Why We Shouldn't Worry About Google.

Hey Everyone,
Have you ever sat, staring into space for hours worrying about Google?
There’s a common fear among beginners in the online business world: What if Google doesn’t rank my website? The moment someone hits publish, they start refreshing their rankings like they’re checking a cake in the oven every five minutes. NEWS FLASH: The cake isn’t done yet, and neither is your website. :)
Here’s the thing: Google is not the only search engine in town. And honestly, worrying about it is like worrying about a traffic light five miles down the road while you’re still in the driveway. Let’s focus on what actually matters.
1. Google Has a Mind of Its Own and It’s Moody.
Google is like that one friend who changes their taste every few months. One day they love chocolate chip cookies, the next day it’s oatmeal raisin. Who even likes oatmeal raisin? Hahahaha! In other words, algorithms shift constantly, and no one really knows what Google will favor next. That's what I don't like. But, who am I anyway? Certainly not Elon Musk!
So instead of stressing over rankings, focus on what you can control; creating solid content, engaging with your audience, and improving your skills. SEO is important, but it’s not the only thing.
2. Other Search Engines Exist :Yes, Really!
Google might be the biggest search engine, but it’s not the only one driving traffic. Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, and even YouTube and Pinterest are bringing in visitors every day. Also, Meta, Instagram and X drive traffic to websites. Some of these platforms are actually easier to rank on, which means you could be getting traffic while everyone else is obsessing over Google’s mood swings.
Diversify your traffic sources. Share your content on different platforms, repurpose it into videos or social posts, and let people find you in multiple ways.
3. Progress Takes Time: Just Keep Moving.
New websites don’t rank overnight. It takes time, consistency, and effort. You wouldn’t plant a seed and then dig it up every day to see if it’s growing, right? (Okay, maybe once. But then you’d stop because that’s not how plants work.)
Instead of worrying about Google, keep writing, keep learning, and keep improving. Over time, your hard work will compound, and traffic will come.
Concluding Thoughts
Worrying about Google is wasted energy. Focus on the work, explore other traffic sources, and trust the process. Keep creating, keep moving, and let the search engines do their thing. One day, you’ll look back and wonder why you ever stressed about this in the first place.
Now, go write that next post. You’ve got this!
THhank you for reading.
Have an awesome day.
All the best,
Maxine:)

Absolutely love this mindset! It’s so easy to get caught up in the ups and downs of search engine rankings, but at the end of the day, obsessing over Google’s algorithm changes won’t create better content or drive sustainable growth. Focusing on the work—building valuable content, engaging with your audience, and exploring diverse traffic sources—ensures long-term success. Search engines reward consistency and quality over time, so trusting the process is key. A year from now, the energy spent worrying could be channeled into something far more productive. Keep creating, keep experimenting, and the results will follow!
Yes, thank you for the positive comment, Kevin.
It's better to be productive and worry less or not at all.
