Moving Up in WA Rank
That little number at the top of my screen? I watch that. When I started WA, my first day or so it said something like 9k+. I don't remember exactly what the widget view is set for when you are very, very low on the WA totem pole. But as I participated in chat, wrote a couple of blog posts and gained followers, my number kept going down.
I didn't really know what it meant until I clicked on it and discovered it is a combination of your contributions to helping others, to creating training, and your activity level on WA. In my first few months, most of my gains were made solely through activity. Being on WA, asking questions, participating in forums, etc. I was climbing steadily. I think I may have even been very close to cracking 200.
And then, some personal stuff happened. I had to walk away from WA for a while. I kept paying all of my premiums, but my account and my blogs just went dormant. When I came back, I was hovering around 5000. Ugh! I even PM'ed Kyle to see if he could manually move me back to where I was - I wanted to just pick up where I'd left off. The response came - "Good one, Maura! No can do!"
So, I have gotten back to work. I have been writing blog posts here and there. I even wrote a little training piece based on some help that someone needed in Chat that needed much more documentation than just a few sentences. I have been trying to help people in chat and be present for people in the moment. And now I have broken into the top 500. I have plans to get back to almost 200 again. And plans to break 200. Just watch me! I will have that little "Top 200" flag one day. And I will keep moving. I will. I am still learning, but that doesn't mean I can't be kind and helpful. And that is what it takes. Watch out, you in the Top 200! Here I come!

Congratulations Maura,
Ranking high here on WA is a matter of time and community involvement that can also be applied to ranking our websites and growing our income there as well.
Keep on Sharing & Caring my Friend,
Tony
So glad you wrote this, I too had to stop for a while (work go REALLY busy) and my rank has slipped a few hundred points but like you I know it will continue to go back down by becoming involved with the WA community again. Best of luck to you!
Kim
