I have kids. Today's avatar image is my middle child. It is her 16th birthday. In two days my son will be 18. I will have an adult child. He graduates in 3 weeks and will be off to college before I know it.
What does that have to do with WA? Well, my first site that I started and took off with was gostronggirl.com having to do with parenting teenagers. Today, I wrote a post on the skills you need and tips for successfully raising a child to adulthood. it is bittersweet. I think I have it together. I think I have done a good job (well, we have since there is a father of the child.) in bringing our kids up right. What does this mean for the future of gostronggirl? In two short years, I will be facing the adulthood milestone with the older of the two girls.
Realistically, I know that my 12 year old will present new challenges and will give me topics on which to write for the next 6 years. But emotionally, I feel like both I and my site are crossing into new territory.
Just sharing. Not asking for advice but sharing some of my feelings today. And how this week is affecting me (we have always called it birthday week). And how am I going to survive the next 3 weeks to graduation? Holy cow. Oh, holy cow.
