specifically, I want to talk about the requested comments.

I recently started requesting comments, which I have been too scared to do up until now. Do you know what I have come to find? The comments I love the very most are the ones who actually read the post and respond in accordance to the article.

I know, mind-blowing revelation. Let me share with you my experience with the first comment that came in. I was so excited with anticipation! I requested comments on a "get to know you" post. I have a Fine Art photography niche and being personable in that niche is an absolute must!

I listed ten things that you may not know about Mattie K, and encouraged my readers to do the same. It was not meant to be an "informational post." just a get to know more about you! My heart sank when the first comment that came in was very obviouly copy and pasted. first, it stated "I would like to thank the author; (The authors name was in the title...) for the this very interesting and informative article. I learned a lot of valuble InformatIon. " Then it went on to say that they were going to share this information with some one they know.

The comment itself was a nice comment. However, it had nothing to do with my post. I get that they were probably thinking that this comment would probably apply to most situations. However, let me be clear, when you make generic comments like that, people can see straight through inauthenticity. There was no way that I could approve a comment like that, being that my whole niche is about capturing people in a very authentic and intimate way.

If I were to approve a comment that was inauthentic it would look awful to my readers and make me look spammy and scammy. Not cool.

This community is fantastic, and if we want quality feedback and comments than we owe it to each other to take the time to read, understand and reply positively in an honest way. If an article is not your cup of tea and you "simply cannot." Move on and do not comment. I would rather not comment and lose out on a credit than to give a spammy or inauthentic comment and lose credibility.

We live in a world now where people are pretty dang good at sniffing out inauthenticity out. The days are over where you can fake it and expect to succeed, You have to be real and give an honest effort.

Yeah I got some comment that was very generic like "Great information, this post is very informative. I'll be sure to share this information. My audience will appreciate the information"

No information about the information mentioned! very much a copy and past job!

It's so frustrating when you take the time to leave honest comments, and that's what you get.

Couldn't agree more about authenticity! We have a huge range of folks in this forum. Some are passionate and genuine, others are trying to figure out how they can make the most money with the very least amount of work. That was the person who commented first on your site. You were right - better to delete that comment than to add it to your site and have duplicated garbage as a response. Hold out for the good stuff. It will come!

I agree there are always going to be those people where ever you go. But I truly do love this community. I have met the most amazing people.
