Workarounds for multiple comments in one day
We have all witnessed that if we ask for one -or more- comments, we get multiple comments in a single day. I'm not sure whether this is due to the algorithm of the specific feature, or just the eagerness of the members to help other members - and become certified commenters. Probably it is both :)
One workaround I use to overcome this and give our fellow members here at WA comments over a span of a few days at least, is this: When I get an email for a SiteComment match, I first click on the link. If I get to the post to be commented and I've exceeded the 3 comments per day, I just leave it open in my browser.
And, I come the next day to read the post and write the comment. This way, I spread my comments into multiple days, and help all our fellow members here to have credible comment line - instead of the "irrational" 5-7 comments in one day.
When I get 5-7 comments in one day, I delay replying to the comments. I find this better than rejecting comments for the sake of rejecting comments and creating a more rational comment sequence.
