Discovering the Quiet Achiever

Hello everyone out there in WA land. I have been here for about 6 weeks and have not started my WA blog before because I really had no idea what to write about. So I decided to write about my journey within WA as I have been feeling guilty about not contributing to the community as much as I feel I should.

I live in Melbourne Australia, and have worked my whole life as an RN. One distinguishing feature about most nurses I know is that we talk ALL day at work, to patients, to doctors, to other nurses, to families, you get the idea. I often do not want to talk to anyone when I leave for the day, especially now I am in management.

The COVID pandemic was really hard on those of us working in the healthcare industry and particularly hard on those of us in Melbourne - otherwise known as the most locked down city in the world. The sad thing for me was that I realised being locked down for so long didn't really change my life all that much. I still had to go to work and then come home and look after my disabled son and disabled dog (I am single).

That is when I decided to change my life, not only for myself but also for my son (and my fur baby). Hence I am here.

I no longer have parents and my brother is terminally ill so I need to be able to have a portable income as my goal is to move my son (and myself) to the next state north to where we will be surrounded by my extended family. That is when I will retire and be able to focus on WA full-time. In the mean time I will continue to work and let the blog grow slowly.

So, my day is really only 12 hours long as I leave the house at 0600 and do not return until around 1800 (sometimes a little earlier) during the week. All the work I can get done on this business during the week must be done around feeding the boys (my son and my fur baby), trying to get some housework done etc... It is not as bad as it sounds, I talk to myself while I am in the kitchen (voice notes) - the dog thinks I am nuts and watches me with his head on one side most evenings.

But I cannot spend much time here on the site as that would take time away from working through the training, so that is something I have to just skip through for now.

I have managed to get through to the third section of the training without too many sagas - and with help from Abie and my personal angel trainer Tim (another Aussie who signed me up and is online at the same time I am usually). I have also discovered Jay's AI training. This is an area I was drawn to as I have some experience with ChatGPT from another area I work in.

I am having fun training ChatGPT 3.5 (instead of ChatGPT 4 as Jay has) and I have discovered that the less evolved version is kind of like the less evolved version of Data (Star Trek - The Next Generation). It looks the same, it kind of does what Jay's version does, then all of a sudden it goes off on a tangent like a slightly manic, not quite complete clone. It can be quite entertaining and it certainly makes me more creative in my instructions for it. Next I have to come up with a name for it - I am still contemplating that one.

I had only managed to get 2 out of 8 posts indexed (which was annoying me) but now I have scheduled pins happening in Pinterest, within 24 hours, all posts got indexed while I was at work. So I guess I am building a process (Thanks Jay!)

I think that is probably all for now - back to training and maybe checking out quirky baby name books!
