My Progress at WA
I have been a member at WA for almost two months now. I feel that I have made some good progress in learning SEO and website design. I have gone slowly because of schedules and vacation time, but I think I am learning how to do internet marketing.
My 1st website is http://civilwar-reenacting.com/ and I'm using it as my learning tool. Actually, I think that the pictures and amount of content on it are quite good and interesting, especially for a newbie. I have a lot of links to add especially to the "Units" page as I try to find and connect to these groups. My links on the "Sutlers" page will wait until I have "Affilliate Program" status with as many of the sutlers as possible. At that point, I'll add a "Book Review" page and connect to Amazon.com.
I have two other websites in mind and I may start writing and archiving content on those soon, These will give me the opportunity to express myself and my Christian beliefs as I share some things that the Holy Spirit has shown me over the years in different ways than many people have thought about certain subjects.
My goal is to have a dozen websites in two years to provide an income stream in the years ahead. I would like to build this into a full-time income source, but will be patient and persistent until then.
I am just beginning to learn about using the social media. Blogging, Facebook, Google+, WA community postings, etc., are all new to someone used to conversation over coffee, a phone call, or emails. I'm trying to balance the value of the time spent with following/followers of people I don't really know with the benefits to be gained. Perhaps you can help explain these benefits to me so I can get motivated.
I do want to thank WA for the excellent training that is provided here and the community of support that has been created. This has been very helpful. I especially want to thank Scottdog who has taken the time to answer my many questions and emails, and has been very patient in helping me walk some issues.

visited your website Marty, I know nothing about the subject matter but loved your content, blog colour scheme, photos and level of detail you are providing your readers and a contact form too is useful
It sounds like you have made some nice progress in the short time you have been here Marty. I know that you will reach these goals that you have set for yourself and it really has been a pleasure working with you.

Thank you for the comment. BTW, how much traffic do you need to have before starting affiliate programs, etc.? Also, I have a "Sutlers" page (http://civilwar-reenacting.com) which lists maybe 100+ sutlers that I want to link to and get as many commissions as possible from. Will this hurt me with Google? I also have a "Units" page that will have links to over 200 different reenacting units, but this is also part of the service and information that I am providing to my visitors. Will Google recognise this as value or drop the site as having too many links? Help, before I go further.
