I left Wealthy Affiliate 2 Years Ago...

2 Years ago, I was a relatively active member of Wealthy Affiliate.

I created a few blogs and gave plenty of feedback on peoples websites, sharing my web development knowledge.

I got told by everyone reading my blogs how much they appreciated them.

I felt like a king. Lol, joke, I never believed it until today.

Ten minutes ago, I decided to join Wealthy Affiliate again BECAUSE again; something has clicked.

2 Years ago, I discovered something called Micro-Transactions, and I found that by charging my Facebook Group members to advertise in the group I could earn a nice, quick and hassle-free passive income if I charged them .99p per month, BUT I had 50k members soo... that was fun.

I shared that journey with everyone here, and people loved it (so it seemed).

I realised something significant when I discovered this little membership hack with Facebook.

Ready for it?

I was vulnerable.

Why?

Simples...

I did not own the database.

I did not fully own the Facebook group.

When Facebook decides to take my group away from me.

I.Was.SCREWED.

I also realised that my Facebook group managed to get to 50,000+ members because Facebook drove traffic to it.

Facebook did the hard work, and I just took advantage of it.

I learnt next to zero when it came to traffic generation, good copywriting and most of all, how to make money properly.

I stupidly left Wealthy Affiliate because I did not realise the value they presented and offered.

TBH, it's probably been one of my worst moves as an affiliate marketer.

Here is why...

The money is in the database.

A database is created by giving value.

Giving value is helping others grow.

That's it.

They say in affiliate marketing that every email you have should be worth a minimum of £1 per month to you.

So; 100 emails = £100pm / 10,000 emails = £10,000pm etc...

On Facebook, I was renting 50,000+ members from FB.

I never owned them; therefore, I was building a business on quicksand.

So, what's the point I'm trying to make?

When I realised the art of giving value.

When I realised the security of owning a database gives you.

When I realised I knew F-all about traffic generation.

I put my thinking cap on and said: "I've gotta learn this" - so I did it the hard way...

I went from course to course to course to course to course to course spending money over and over.

Taking funds from my core business to fund these stupid courses and stupid PPC costs I kept trying.

Finally, I ran out of money...

I could not keep taking it out of my business, so I went from PPC to Organic.

I decided to create a Youtube channel (Marty Englander) and just share everything I've learnt over the 8 Years I've been doing things relating to software, making money and, mindset.

Within one month; I made $800 from 1 video.

Swear down - no lies - absolute truth.

I was in tears and could not believe it.

This was the first time I did

keyword research
a structured video
shared some hardcore knowledge

and...

People loved it to the point they purchased something.

This cost me zero £s and 1 hour of my time.

To this day, it's making money, and I'm building a database. (this is what my email looks like everyday.)

My conversion rates are 1 sale in 3 clicks.

Since then, I've also created two full-blown courses on a course platform with over 5500+ enrolled students.

My videos have received over 70,000+ views, and my channel has 700+ subscribers.

So, am I here to brag?

Yes a little bit because I've worked and cried so bloody hard BUT im also here because I want to start giving back AND grow a community of individuals who apply the same efforts I do, and where we can talk about the results and have fun.
