Wobbling & Wavering - Hold or Fold
Dare I say I'm wobbling and wavering?
I created a niche website 2.5 months ago. I'm chugging along and it's chugging along. Choo Choo! Great!
But, I want to write about other things (somewhat related to my niche but not exactly) but to include it on my current website would feel somewhat out of place or wrong somehow.
I am also concerned that it may undermine my current content.
I feel like my niche is almost too narrow and to continue to write appropriately associated content may be problematic.
I feel a little constricted.
I feel (all about the emotion) that with a different website name I could incorporate my current niche and other content if I chose a website name that allowed for some greater movement and broader content.
Obviously the concern in making a change would be that possibly I would lose ranking and/or any progress I've currently made.
I don't necessarily want to jump ship but then again it's early days and one wonders whether making the change now would be better in the long run.
So, do I hold fast or ditch?

Think in terms of building a relationship with your website, as things progress they change.
If the topics are related. Then it can be possible to weave them together.
If they are not related, then it will be harder.
Better to create the change earlier on than leave it till down the track.
If you form that connection with your site you grow together.
If you don't have that spark you grow apart.
But how easy or hard would it be to merge them and what would happen with indexed or ranked posts wouldn’t they be based on the original website?
I thought about this at the beginning; my plan is to just start other websites after this one if I want to discuss other topics. I'm kind of just using the niche I have now to see how it goes so that I can apply what worked and not apply what didn't work to my new sites. I guess I don't really have the answer, but that is what I'm going to do. LOL.

Well, as long as you keep writing content on your current niche (unless your point is that it's really too confined and you simply can't), then you should be ok.
If you can't, then I guess you have no choice but to maybe select a website title that is a little more broad so that you can incorporate your current niche as well some others under that one more general category...I had thought about that when I was making my website back in October, and I made it a little more broad for that reason. Even still, it's getting a little harder to come up with new content, but I can always do the product reviews. Sometimes, I do that while I'm waiting to write brand new general content.

I have a 20-20 vision this year which I call a positive vision which you too can have, so do not listen to anything negative but look for positive ways through the maze as there is light at the end of all tunnels.
Tom.
Is that a bit like, having a makeup website and wanting to add a segment where you discuss cold case murder mysteries? Is that the difference between what you have vs what you want to do ?
lol....not quite....not that far afield. Hmmm....let's say meditation versus personal development.....
Lol okay 👌🏽 - I guess they fail under a similar umbrella? Maybe personal development is the umbrella and meditation is the off shoot.
