A group of people that depends on each other to a achieve a common objective. Therefore, in a group of people there are many intelligent minds and brains working together for a purpose. The skills and capability of each other enhance the entire group knowledge base. Individually. Everyone's knowledge capacity will improve.

There are much to gain in working as a team instead of on your own. Team work provides quality service to customers which could improve any business.

Learning to listen to other team members are key, this will provide an inside on others needs and desires, also an opportunity to learn.

Team tasks:

Team task required complex co-ordination

1 Achieving goal- requires brain storm, evaluate, review, and meetings. United we stand divided we fall as a team

2 Increasing individual learning-team members must develop skills and individual learning from one another.

3 Communication-when a team works together, they are able to pass ideas clearly to one another.

In a business setting, team work could generate new business ideas that can help improve the business. If employers encourage a team working model they can get a ton of ideas that can elevate the business growth.

Critical success factors of team work:

  • Good leadership-effective leadership motivate and encourage high level of morals among team members.
  • Goal setting- Specific, measurable, attainable,relevant,time bound goals.
  • Individual commitments-each individual action is what would help the team achieve its goal.
  • Defining clear cut rules- Keep team focus.
  • Effective communication- includes responding rather than reacting, listening, being present when your team members are speaking to you, rephrasing and positive body language
  • Personal accountability- Team goals must be completed, and members must hold each other accountable.
  • Positive Attitude- Positive attitude towards your goal could make it so much easier to achieve.
  • Trust - One of the essential element in prompting team work because without trust no one can't take any risk.
  • Setting Good Example - Team leader must be positive and motivated.

Your team members are your customers:

Remember, when speaking to your team members a smile, eye contact In responding to others, we need to listen, process, think and choose if we want to respond or not. This can take about 30 second, I usually count to 30 to give myself time to process the information before I speak. If, we want people to listen to us we need to listen to them first.

Greeting your team members and compliment them always trigger a positive response. There are some positive words we could use when listening to others like Yes. Okay, I understand, well, uh...ah etc.

A good positive body language, and a good handshake lives a very positive and impressive impression. Remember our gestures and body language influences our mind.

The ability of team members:

The ability of team members to develop creative solution to pressing organizational challenges is at the core of team's activities, common sense, and practicality.

To make team work "work" for you. Keep the common goal in mind.

Participate. Be open-minded. Support your leader. Be clear about your role. Don't be dominant Be sure to have fun.
