Hey there,
Thanks for being a part of my journey thus far. I'm here with a brief update on my brand Fun Shores Ahead, a family travel brand specializing in the beach which is where my family often find ourselves on vacation.
I've been building it alongside the live training since December. I know I was a little MIA for March because, along with the training, I have been focused a lot on optimization and figuring out my audience.
Figuring out your audience is important. I started the brand with one thing in mind, beach destinations for families but the brand is actually taking a whole different turn that honestly, I really enjoy because its helping me to be more helpful to other families who also want to travel together. And I LOVE that.
The Start of My YouTube Channel
If you want to take a peak, follow along and all that good stuff, my brand is called Fun Shores Ahead.
The channel already existed but there was not much on it. So I added the channel's:
- Icon
- Banner
- Username
- Description

I'm not completely happy with it but it says what it needs to say and is better than nothing. I am learning to do that lately.
Also, if you're wondering what the extra blue buttons are, its a YouTube optimization plugin/platform called VidIQ. Its similar to Tube Buddy but I've always like it better and its come out with some really cool AI features to create shorts and more. So, not selling anything here, but if you're looking into YouTube optimization check it out. They also share some really great tips on their YouTube channel.
(Its also black because I use dark mode since my eyes are light sensitive)
YouTube Plans Going Forward
As you can see there are a few videos published on the channel but I haven't published anything over the passed month or so, so the traction that I had is gone.
I was sort of testing the water but lately I've been getting more clear about the brand and the direction I want to take. Also thinking about things like creating content that can be posted on other platforms too and things like that.
My goal is to publish 3 videos a week and break them up into daily shorts. I haven't completely worked out my strategy but that's where it is right now.
Video Editing Software for PC
One more thing on the subject of video editing. I have shared a bit on using Cyberlink Powerdirector but have recently made the switch to Filmora. I'm very reluctant to change but Powerdirector kept messing up my videos, specifically for 9:16 ratio. So now I am in the process of learning how to use Filmora. I still think Powerdirector is good for beginners but after spending an hour or so on a video, having it mess up is frustrating.
Hopefully this has given you some insight and ideas for your online business. If you have any questions lmk and look forward to hearing from you in the comments.
Take care,
Marlinda
