Unbelievable Course of Events Started Here at Wealthy Affiliate
Hey everyone! The title may be overstating the blog post as is, but there are many other branches to this story that I am leaving out for the sake of the length of this post. I'll keep this short, unedited, and directly out of my head.
I was away for a little while and now I am back and I want to share what happened to me while I was away from WA!
Here is where it all started. I was a curious person and I wanted to get away from the regularity of my life and I wanted to do something of my own. The reason I am writing the post about this in here and not some other social media is because my intention is not to brag about anything, but to contribute here, where it all started, and to motivate others to pursue their higher self.
Now that I got that out of the way I want to get to the good stuff. I am intentionally going to keep this short, no need to bore you with the details, however, feel free to ask about the details in the comments!
As I got into the WA world, and being a quick study, it didn't take me long to start digressing and going into many different directions with my ideas. Everyone here will tell you, keep sharp focus on your niche. Well, while they are telling it right, and I agree with their philosophy, I couldn't find my discipline - at least not at that point in time. See, I didn't know what I wanted, liked, nor what I was truly passionate about.
That's why I decided to not get emotionally too attached to my projects that I was creating here and I went on a exploratory mission. It took me all over the internet and it took me away from here for a while. After initially getting into web design and marketing here at WA, through my journey I found I really like design (and development - but I am not very good at it) and I was given a chance to contribute ideas to several businesses. That's when I realized I loved solving problems for businesses and being a part of start ups.
I helped a few brands with their marketing strategy, a few design tips on their website, then the word got around, and then the next thing I know, I was so busy with work that I had to go and find a partner in crime (design I mean :), and that I did. I went back home to Croatia and told my cousin I was looking for someone trustworthy who isn't afraid of commitment and hard work. Luckily (or not), he had a great experience with Kris, a developer and designer from Zagreb who helped him with his start up!
After spending countless hours with Kris working on projects, we constantly shuffled ideas back and forth until we locked one in and decided, THAT'S IT! Months passing, we worked, we pushed, sleep deprived, averaging 3 coffees a day, we came up with a plan and executed beautifully. As I live in the States and Kris in Croatia we tried to take advantage to the time difference. You guessed it, while I was sleeping he was working, while he was sleeping I was working. In all honesty this system worked really well for me, but Kris had ... well just try to picture a human that sits and looks at the computer until 3 am almost every day. Sorry Kris!!!
To cut this short all I have to say is that yesterday we launched Awardlet!!! It's been a long 2017!!!
The funny thing is though, the first website I built was called highest self fitness, second one nutrition catalogue, third one mywebiz... you see where this is going. I never had a clue where I was going to end up, all I knew was that there was something at Wealthy Affiliate that I resonated with, so I pursued that feeling. The fact of the matter is, and I told this to Kris right before we launched, if there wasn't for WA, there would be no partnership, no Awardlet, nor this path I am on right now. I absolutely love the feeling of accomplishment, even though I know that it wasn't a finish line that we crossed, but a start line!
Look if you are here right now and new to WA, all I can say is go for it and don't let go, you never know how you can spin the course of your life.
Cheers!

That's a fabulous story, Marko. Well done! Or as my mum would say, svaka ti čast!
Thank you for the kind words. Where are you from originally? Pricate Hrvatski?
I’m Australian! But my parents were migrants. Dalmatians, both, although Dad grew up in the capital. And da, this is one of the handful of languages I speak!
