Multiple Streams - what else am I doing to achieve my vision?

I really love the idea of passive income. That's what's going to help me attain my vision (see my other post "Why I am here - a short life story".

However, passive income isn't going to happen straight away. So while I'm working on that, I am trying to get involved with other activities.

Other Activities

The other projects I'm getting involved with include:

Overhaul & Redesign of a website for a non-profit.

This is something that I learnt about through family member. The "client" is a foundation that was set up to promote the artwork of a famous artist (who died in 1971).

This project scared me in the beginning because their website looked like it was created no long after the artists died. It was very static and was all hard coded. The initial request was to update the content, but I put forward a pitch that I re-haul the whole thing, and create it on WordPress.

This is hardly passive income, as it wil cost me a lot of time. However, I think that the experience will be great, And I will have a "reference site" that I can show others,

Setting up an affiliate site for a retired carpenter

I know a man who is a retired carpenter (alright - it's my 77yo Dad). He has been selling ultrasonic cleaning baths for the last 10 years and has not been doing that great at it. (To be honest, I think that he spends more of his own time, and money, then it's worth.),

Anyway - he has built up a large amount of knowledge around this area and is always writing "newletters" that tend to stay on his computer. Every now and then, he sends them out to people to try and promote himself, but it's not that effective - he doesn't always get any business I've proposed that he just give away the knowledge. On a web-site. And then, hopefully, my Dad can start making a little bit of money using affiliate links and ad-sense.

This is an on-going project at the moment.

Book Reviews

This is something that I have started doing. My current blog is not that great. I started it, and ran it, as a hobby, so never focused on driving traffic. However, I'm trying to change that at the moment.

One of the things that I am now doing is to reach out to people in the industry who have published books. Then I am doing a review on them. Is there anything in this for me? Not necessarily a financial reward (there is no affiliate agreement), but I'm hoping that it, at least, gets me a copy of a book for free ;O) and helps drive sales for the authors. and that, somewhere, this will have a flow-on effect for me...

Am I crazy?

These are the things that I am working on that are not necessaily going to earn me passive income.Hopefully though, other good things will come from these. Then again,maybe I'm just crazy...what do you think? Let me know in the comments.
