On my home page, there are lists of my previous posts/latest listings which have blank pictures on them, How or where can I put the thumbnail like image on them?
Simply go to your dashboard and open All Posts - find the posts that you want to add the thumbnail too by clicking edit. Now look to the right of the editor and you'll see Featured Image - add your image there, this is your thumbnail image for your post.
Now simply repeat this for all the posts you want to add a thumbnail image too.
