Progress so far
It's day 10 of my Wealthy Affiliates' membership. So here's a brief summary with thoughts on progress so far.
Training
The training continues with WA, and following the tick points on each module certainly does encourage what you (think you may) have learnt into practice. I'm now 61% through my fourth of the five modules.
The social media engagement has proven to be the most time-consuming, specifically getting to grips with Pinterest. But I am, I hope, getting there.
Typing, typing, and more typing
At more than 12,000 words, my posts are certainly putting my writing skills to the test - particularly as I am now writing to engage others and elicit interactions with them to ultimately generate income.
This certainly encourages the development of a friendly, flowing, but purposeful style of narrative. It's aim has to be to keep the reader's attention and encourage her/him to take positive action.
Be polite, positive & proactive
The interesting thing I have learnt, rather than pure knowledge I'm applying or picking up in background research for my site's posts, is about myself.
As the whole basis of WA is community focussed, both internally (with my interactions with fellow members), and externally (in terms of helping and teaching with methodologies to interact and engage with others to develop a 'following' for my site), what I have found is that it pays to be polite, positive and, where feasible, proactive when dealing with others. Whether that's in asking a question of others within WA, or responding to comments/feedback on my site - people respond better when you're neither abrupt nor bellicose.
The income stream draws nearer
I've also signed up to a few affiliate programs, so at least the framework is there for income generation to commence. It just needs to start happening. This I hope to achieve within the next three months such that it develops into a meaningful stream within the next 6 months.
Hopefully the income stream will be less a trickle and more of a sustained and growing current. I'll keep you posted
Meantime, if you've joined WA within the last two weeks or so, maybe you could comment on your progress and challenges to date - it could be a worthwhile conversation.
