Connecting advertising links to your website

Hi Team,
I have a question that was to long to type for the question space left on top,so i have to type it in here,anyways i just want to know if i connected the adds i was approved correctly== to my text==on my post==on my website.
Is the proper way of doing this,for ex.i'm on Linkshare,and i applied for some companies that emailed me back saying my web site was approved to advertise their products,then send me some links.

What i did was i went on Linkshare and clicked GET LINK,for the site i wanted and copied and pasted the link==on the text inside the post i wanted it to fit==and renamed it to fit in my lines accordingly to my content.
Was that the proper way to do it? I am worried that maybe i did not connected the link correctly and i wont get any commission if a sale happens... :-) Maybe i am rushing with the questions,maybe it will be explained by Kyle in some of the Getting Started Lessons i haven't got to watch yet.
By the way,here's my web site,comments are more than welcomed,this is my first website ever i only have 2 posts so far,but with the help of the community i am more than sure i will be OK,Thanks for reviewing team!
