if I have products of my own available online, on a website that takes my images and print and ships them, can I use these to post on my webpage and sell? And could I get affil

Yes you can sell your own products

Well Marie-Sue;I think Kyle and Carson are well indicated to answer this question.

This is very interesting to know

It's your website, you can do anything you want. Just be sure to read the agreement from other affiliates...they may have restrictions.
Debbie

Yes.

So I could have a mixture of products of mine and other places, and perhaps apps that are relevant to my niche as well then, right? I like this concept. I just wonder how long it will take me to get there. Working on it as much as I can, when my son is napping or sleeping at night.. :)

Hi Kyle,
Here I am, I think I have found my Niche.. I love Halloween and special effects Makeup (I use to be a special effects Makeup artist 20 years ago) so I was wondering

Looks like my website name just magically appeared.. Bloodymary it is!! :) My "intro" reads "Bloody Mary's Spooky Fits".. lol I think it might be catchy. What you all think?

That's awesome ideas Marie Sue !
Loving what you are doing really helps when you hit times of being stuck or thinking of content ideas! It happens to everyone, just like Ms. Betty said .
If you need help just ask. You are in the right place
Best of success to you !

I know Kyle will be able to answer all your questions but I thought I chime in with a discovery I've made about a niche. Passion is often used when Kyle talks about choosing your niche. I second that need. You will be investing hours, moments of frustration, and downright puzzlement as you build your Website. Your ideas for developing categories is a good one. However, if you don't really love and believe in your niche it will be harder for you to develop what you need. Love it or leave it comes to mind.
Hope this confirms what you may already know in your gut.
Betty

Thanks. I really am passionate about special effects Makeup and the likes. Halloween is my favorite time of the year. Lol have done many many special makeups to myself, and others, and pretty sure I am not about to be done :) now I just gotta find it a good name. And chose a good layout for my site. Let's see where this is going. :)

I don't see why you couldn't have costumes and makeup together on the same site, you could expand even more than that if you wanted to, to be honest. And for the cloth diapers, just because you won't be changing them anymore doesn't mean you can't do help people. If you have a lot of advice to offer and you have experience in this niche it will never get old. people will still listen to you if you say " back when i was changing diapers , doing this or using that helped me..."
I say do it, make your website your own, there are no rules and there's not much you can't do.
