Finding YOUR Niche or How WA Changed My Life
I've been working in the kitchen all the live long day... Sung to "I've been working on the Railroad"...
So, what does working in the kitchen have to do with working on my website, Wealthy Affiliate and finding my niche? Well, once my gluten free baking website is up and rolling you'll be finding out for yourself, but I'll tell you know so you don't have to wait.
I started this Wealthy Affiliate venture just a couple of weeks ago and it has really opened up the joy in my life!! I love baking!! I haven't done it in years because I was following my brain and doing what I thought I "should" be doing, which ultimately drove me into a metaphorical ditch and almost literally killed me.
I was introduced to WA by my friend and mentor at Academy of Spirit, she is also here on WA. She had me check it out and after I fell in love with the site and community, but couldn't really think of a niche, she said, "What do you think about having a gluten free baking website?" My heart started jumping around in my chest and I almost started dancing around the room. That's it!! I could feel it! That was not just a niche I could get behind. That was MY niche.
I've been in the kitchen doing research and development aka baking cookies, taking pictures, and writing blogs and recipes ever since. My heart is happy, my taste buds are happy, my whole family is happy because they are almost all gluten free and all love my baking and eventually when I get it all put together, published and affiliated my checking account will be very, very happy.
If you think with your head and are only concerned about money you can probably make money with any niche as long as you work 24/7 and practically kill yourself in the process. If you feel with your heart and soul you'll still be working 24/7, but you will be so full of life and love that you'll be dancing through it and it won't feel like work. It will feed your soul as well as your belly (when the checks start rolling in) and you'll be content in your life and not just have a life full of content.
Mulan was right, follow your heart.
BTW I'm standing in the kitchen in my jammies, making oatmeal with the beginnings of a new cookie recipe spread out on the counter. I'm in the midst of what looks like chaos, but I am so happy that I had to share it with you.
Look around you. What are you surrounded by? Is it making your heart sink or sing? If it is making your heart sing you are probably right where you should be. If not perhaps you should find a different tune.
