Breaking Quarantine for an Overseas Holiday
We all need a break every now and then, away from our normal routines. And it has been said that 'a change is as good as a holiday', so I've mixed up my day a little with a virtual vacation.
I Still go about my normal day, working on blog posts, checking Wealthy Affiliate and staying in touch, plus all my other offline activities. Which isn't much these days.
Though with some wearable technology to count my steps and a smartphone in hand, I'm also trekking through the Yosemite National Park in California.
What does this really mean though? During my day I now get a notification that I have reached a new landmark on my virtual trail. I can check out what I could be witnessing if I did this in the real world.
Is it all that exciting? We take what you can get when you're living in the underground (at least that's what it can feel like in lockdown). And who knows, with the advancement of virtual reality technology, will this become the way we experience things in the modern age?
A place to get high on cellular waves, where we stay online so we can move at the speed of light. Get ready player one....
One thing it did get me to do was to push me to take a few extra steps to reach a point, keep me moving instead of lounging around. To burn a few more calories and maintain my health.
I have to say, the Yosemite Valley does appear to have some beautiful locations, maybe I'll have to visit when travel resumes.
