FTP in the browser

How it's done

  1. Enter ftp://yourdomain.com in the address field (see picture) and hit enter.
  2. Enter the username and password that will be requested and hit enter again.
  3. Open Explorer (the file explorer, not the internet explorer) to drag and drop files from the browser to the explorer or vice versa.
This works in Firefox and Internet Explorer and probably some other browsers I haven't checked.

Why?

Good question, because usually the use of an FTP client is more comfortable, but there are some situations where you might wanna try this solution. For example if you don't have an FTP client installed and don't have the rights to do so. And, completely unrelated, I wanted to see how it works to put up a training, enjoy my first one ;)

You see, I tried to make this a training, but the minimum for a training is 4 pages.
