SiteContent & Why it's so encouraging
Hey everyone! So I've been using SiteContent for almost all of my posts on my website, and I've hit 21k words!
That's higher than 96% of WA members this month, which gives me quite a nice sense of accomplishment.
For those who haven't been using SiteContent actively, I suggest that you give it more of a chance!
You can set your own goals (word count, paragraph numbers, heading numbers etc) which is really something to work towards for every post. Or you can simply follow the default template they've set (1000 words) which is a reasonable goal per blog post.
SiteContent also doesn't present any formatting issues when you upload it to your blog (which I've come across when using some different rich text editors) such as the weird, random spacings or breaks that appear out of nowhere.
Pictures are also such a breeze to add and format here. As Kyle has gone through in many a lesson, uploading and formatting an image is super easy! Much easier compared to going into the html code and editing that manually.
I am aware that when attaching links to words in SiteContent, it automatically scrolls you all the way to the top of the page (which is quite annoying) so I add in my links via the Wordpress Editor.
Those are some of the reasons why you should use SiteContent more! All those statistics just help motivate me to finish typing out that article, especially when I tend to get distracted and start to procrastinate.
As always, thank you for reading, and GODSPEED!
Manika

Why should we have to write in site content and the copy and paste into word then transfer back to our website? Why can't site content be set up properly before it gets presented as the way to get all of our writing accomplished? Why are we beta testing this? stawhu
Hey Scott,
Long time no hear! It’s unfortunate that you’re still having these problems :( Personally I’ve not experienced such issues myself, so I’m not sure how to help you :( Perhaps link up with Sitesupport?
Manika
I did send to site support and they told me to use the visual edit to edit my about scott , which i did. However, only some of my edit took. I was able to change the color of the text that I wanted to change, but after I realigned the text that had been displaced, I pushed update, only a couple of the words went to where they where supposed to go and then a couple did not.
So, If I understand enough to get colors changed and get some of the words where they belong , and have they rest of my page looking the the way I want it , Why do some other words not go where they belong? stawhu
Oh man, Scott
Sounds like you're really having a hard time where you shouldn't be :(
Really wish I could help but I myself am not sure what's going wrong. Perhaps you could try allowing the text to naturally align itself (without manually aligning text) and see if that yields anything you can work with?
letting the text align itself produced THE MOST serious jumble of sentences. Only when I tied the problem to something called justifying the paragraph structure ( which I was not doing) and using the left align box did I make the most progress. But still the same glitches came up, just not as many. Scott
Hi, well that's interesting...
I was slow to pick up on the site content platform and when I did, I loved it.
But, and it's a big but...I now use it to write and then copy and paste into a wordpress new post, because there are things I can't do until it's in wordpress, like use a recipe plugin.
It seems such a shame to not use the sitecontent properly but I can't think of any other way, unless you have any suggestions?
I prefer writing in Word offline then I copy and paste it into SiteContent. I don't know if that's not a good idea or not. I guess I'm too used to the Word tools. I do use the features available in SiteContent, like the Grammar checker, and possibly images, to finish the job.
Al the best to you, Soyara!
~Bob
Mm I completely understand where you’re coming from. I myself use a set of plugins to organise my page (from SiteOrigin) but what I do is: Publish it via SiteContent then immediately carry out any changes inside Wordpress. This is fine for now (as nobody is going to check my website the instant I upload a post)(yet), but may not work in the long run. But I personally do it to get a notification when my article gets indexed! The feeling is amazing every time. Thanks for sharing, Soraya
Manika
Hey Bob!
Yep this is fine too! I’m a bit cautious about using Rich Text Editors like Word because I may inadvertently introduce erroneous formatting. But if you transfer it inside Sitecontent and upload/publish it from there there shouldn’t be a issue (given that your sitecontent formatting is all good)
Appreciate the comment!
Manika
Thanks Bob - in the beginning I used to do that, write in Word and then copy and paste into Wordpress but now I prefer to write straight into Wordpress - or even better if I could find a way round this - straight into site content.
Best of success to you Bob!
Hi Manika, it's interesting to read how you do it - and food for thought. I'm not sure I can bring myself to press 'publish' until I've checked everything's ready though. I'll have to think about that one; maybe it's a solution. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing, Manika:). I've tried using it, but I'm so used to using what I've been using for so long! I'll try it again:)
Blessings:)
Suzi
Hey Suzi!
Ultimately, whatever makes YOU comfortable is still the best tool for you! If you’ve tried it and don’t like it, that’s completely fine too!
Manika
I have always used it and find it so easy to use too. I don't understand why people are not using it.
With Grace and Gratitude
Karen
I agree, Karen.
I think most people fail to understand simply how useful it is! Or they just don't know about it.
Manika
I love SiteContent too. Since I learned about it I've been using it for all my posts. I usually write my post first on word, copy and paste it on SiteContent then publi
Totally agree, I have created all my content using SiteContent, I created my own template.. Very comfortable environment,

Good work Manika,
You reflect us all, we all get distracted and so not do as much as we could.
Cheers Jae
Thanks Jae,
That's so unfortunately true! Oh well, bad habits that we need to work to get rid of :)
