I Did It!

I completed Course 1! I know that Course 1 is just the beginning, but I feel a sense of great accomplishment.

Looking For a Way Out

This is my second attempt after I signed up for Wealthy Affiliate late last spring. I left Wealthy Affiliate because I was looking for a quicker way to make money from home. I wanted my husband to be able to come off the road as a truck driver. Then he would be able to spend more time, at home, with our children. I tried other avenues, but I was only left frustrated because I needed to invest money that I didn't have. There would still be no guarantees of a return on my investment, even if I had the money. I had given up hope that we could ever bring my husband home.

Changing Course

A turn of events turned our world upside down overnight. In March of this year, my husband became very ill. He could not return to work, and by July he had to resign from his job. Now he was home, but we had no income. We had no insurance, and we were forced to turn to outside agencies for help. A friend offered to let me work at his construction company until my husband could go back to work. I had had no work experience for twenty-one years. I was thankful for that job because it helped us to keep our home. However, it was heartbreaking to go to work and leave my children at home. Although their dad was home with them, I could no longer homeschool them full-time. I had always been there to teach, make meals, and just be a mom. I missed being at home, but I knew I had to assume another role - wage earner.

Holding On

Six months later, my husband was blessed with a job that would allow him to be home nightly. I still work part-time at the construction company, and teach the children when I'm not working. I know that my place is at home to teach them full-time, but we can't afford to lose the extra income if I quit. I enjoy working, but getting paid by the hour is only just getting by. We are always struggling to make ends meet. It seemed that working from home is the only option that would help us accomplish our goals. I was on the computer one night and I clicked on an article that led me back to Wealthy Affiliate. I decided to try again, but this time I have a stronger drive to make this work. I feel compelled to log in as often as I can to just do something that will get me one step closer to the dream of our children having both parents at home full-time. I know that I have a lot of hard work ahead of me, but at least I know that there is going to be a reward at the end of the road.
