Is it possible to complete this lesson using a domain that I already own rather then buying one to move forward?
Yes, for sure. As Mel (onmyownterms) explains.
It can be overwhelming at first.
If you do not have a website attached to the domain you own,
you can do as Mel suggests - log in to the Registrar account where you bought the domain name and change the DNS address to point to WA servers.
If you do have a website with content on it that is being hosted elsewhere, and you wish to transfer hosting to WA, put in a Site Support ticket and they will help you out with that.

Yes, but there are some important things to consider.
1) If you only own a domain with no existing website, it's easy. Just point the DNS records at your Registrar to the nameservers here at WA (ns1.mywahosting.com and ns2.mywahosting.com)
2) If you have a WordPress site elsewhere, download the files so you can upload them here, then go to 1 above and update the DNS. Create a site here for that domain name and then upload the files to your website.
3) If you have a more static, cpanel style website you will be unable to transfer it here in the same style because this site is for WordPress sites only.
Feel free to PM me so I can help you if you need more assistance.

Course2lesson1 how do I use a domain that I already own?

Yes, it's possible and Mel has answered your question very well. Do you host your domain somewhere? Is it live and active? If yes, you can host it where it is or point it to WA to cut down your expenses with other hosting service. WA platform allows to do many things and I don't see any reason to go to other hosting service. But if you have some very specific needs then you can choose another hosting.
Thank You! I am not hosting at another location but I do have a few domain names secured from another location. Thank you very much for all of your help. It is appreciated!
