New Year, New Me?

Hello everyone, and welcome to 2018. Pop the champagne!!! (or in my case, the Martinelli) and let’s get ready for the revolutionary transformation.

I’m sure a lot of you on this platform have been racing to the nearest superstores to get your whiteboards, markers and fancy journals to doodle down what you are expecting to do this year.

I’m hearing everything ranging from getting a Grammy to making over $10,000 a month on the platform (maybe even $10,000 per second, which I might say, is actually crazy and if you are doing that, hey, invite me to your private island in West Bubble.)

However, before we get to the celebration, and believe me, there is plenty to celebrate, we have to unpack last year. What was 2017? A year of controversy, a year of growth, a year of…well, quite a lot to really unpack what just happened.

Personally, it was a year of strife, a lot going on in the workplace and school. I started a public speaking business that is taking time to take off. I’ve continue to be a founding member and run a non-profit theater company in my neighborhood with some of the best colleagues, mentors and instructors I’ve ever known. I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Arts & Entertainment Management and a minor in Marketing, and you may ask,

“Did you pop the champagne?”

“Are you looking forward to paying all that student debt?”

“What are you going to do now?”

To be honest, I puked after my last final. (thank you, food poisoning. Yayyyy.)

I realized success may come like that as well. We may succeed at something and all the build up may come before the celebration. I did toast myself, as well as my brother (he graduated too in December), of course after rigorously washing my mouth of the vomit, and looked into what 2018 would bring me.

Am I looking forward to paying that student debt?

No. No. Not at all.

But at the same time, yes.

Because I am confident that I will wipe it out by December 31st, 2019, which gives me 2 years to do it.

Mark my words. It will get done.

As for what am I going to do now? That is a good question.

I was very dicey with whether to return to Wealthy Affiliate. Three years ago, I joined and quickly soared up the latter. Just when I was on the verge of a breakthrough with my websites, I walked away from it.

People that started with me, that stuck with the platform, that had what I didn’t at the time, commitment and consistency, are well into the profit range of $2000+ a month. It made me realize something.

Wow...what was I thinking?

I am starting three years late.

And I have to ask myself, “What is going to be different this time?”.

I hope you ask yourself that question. I hope you answer that question, but I pray that you don’t answer it now. Because to be honest, you don’t know. You don’t really know.

All I can say to this is I will keep going, daily.

(Plus, iPhone has a Reminders app so yay me, to quote London Tipton).

I end this quick post with this. January 2015, I came across Wealthy Affiliate. Where will I be three years from now?

The time is ticking.

The door is knocking.

My bowels are rumbling.

Wait. That’s the food poisoning.

But to answer more simply, I will be at a better position that I am right now. I will post a blog every Monday, so look out for that (I’ll write more informal and charismatic that I am right now, pinky promise.).

Hopefully the conversation that is a seed for the harvest of success to come will carry on from there. Stay up, my friends. Pop the champagne, and drink to what you will do, not to what you have done. Until next time.
