Taking Charge

I realize the title to this is a bit cliche, however for me it rings true. I have worked in the electrical trade since 1990, and never realized my potential outside of my craft. I went in to business, and that was good until the bubble popped around 2008, then it was downhill from there. I lost everything- business, house, family, vehicles. I went from 6 digits in 2007 to less than $24k in 2009.

Since that point, I have received my Associates degree. I have recently taken on a management position for a global candy manufacturer, and am presently back in school full time. I have listened to all of the "If you want a real job, you have to earn a degree!" type rhetoric. What I am finding out about real jobs, they are cut throat and there is no security. Sure, the pay is decent and the benefits are world class, but the idea that any given day your security badge may not work at the gate is not worth it.

My time is completely stretched out. A toddler, teenagers (on the weekends), full time school, and >40 hours per week is taking its toll. I have been reading about multiple streams of income, and that the wealthy average 7 streams. I came across Wealthy Affiliate, and saw that this can fall right in to place for what my goals are. The best part, it seems completely doable! I am anxious to get started and ready to take my life back!
