Straight Outta Maddie's Planner

I've been a part of Wealthy Affiliate for a little over a month now, and I have made some serious progress. To anyone that is just starting out, or even if you are a seasoned WA member (which if that is the case, then you may already do these things), there are some tips I want to share on the way I've been doing things to keep myself going and staying on track.

I am an avid planner user, and I have notebooks full of to-do lists. Seriously. I have an organization problem. And by that I mean I have a problem with constantly having to be organized! Especially when it comes to my thoughts. I am a mother of an almost two year old, so my brain is pretty scrambled most of the time. And I'm sure most of you can agree that if you don't have a plan before starting something, you may not keep up the motivation to do it. And that is why I'm writing this post today...to keep all of you motivated and on the right track! I'm going to share with you my daily WA/Website To- Do List. So let's get to it, shall we?

My Daily WA Tasks

  1. Welcome new members- Make sure to be reading their bios and give them info on where to start.
  2. Add new members to your network- Add as many as you like. Personally, I love expanding my network because everyday I find many new interesting people. I love reading about their passions and getting to know others!
  3. Help out in the live chat- even if someone is already being helped and as long as it makes sense to add a comment (don't just comment to try to get a higher rank. Make sure you are actually contributing something!), go ahead and join the convo! Just today I felt motivated by some new members' comments. I let them know!
  4. Write a blog when you feel you have something to say. I always love reading others' blogs on their success. Even if it is just a small success of their day. (Ok, so I don't blog EVERY SINGLE DAY, but that doesn't mean you can't! I think it helps hone your writing skills, so why not?)
  5. Join some discussions- Even if you only comment on one discussion or even only reply to one member on a forum. Communicate! Get your opinions and knowledge out there. I say to do this everyday because it is important to stay active within the community, and you never know who may be needing your input at that moment.
  6. Get through at least one lesson everyday and change at least one thing on your website- because this is why you're here- to grow in your online business.

My Daily Website Tasks

  1. Write down at least 10 new article prompts- I keep a notebook on my desk full of ideas for new articles. This is what gets my creative juices flowing in the morning when I'm first starting out. It can be hard to just think of an interesting article and start writing every single day. If you have a list of writing prompts, you will never run out of things to write about and can get right into it everyday. And before you know it, your website will be FULL OF CONTENT. So spend some time before you even log on to your computer and just think of some new ideas.
  2. Search for new keywords based on your writing prompts- It can be hard to think of keyword ideas to search for, but not if you have a list of writing prompts! I can't stress enough how important I think it is to have these prompts. You won't be sitting in front of your computer trying to figure out what to write about next or what keyword to try next. Trust me, I went through that and it is NOT fun!
  3. Find some free stock photos online and save them in a folder specifically for your website. I also recommend taking photos and uploading them- This doesn't have to be an everyday thing, but if you have some free time, I recommend doing it. It can be fun to find/ take pictures, and when you actually need a photo, it is nice to be able to look through a folder instead of spending extra time searching online.
  4. Reread articles you wrote the day before- I think it is good to reread articles you wrote the day before so that you can read it with fresh eyes. I do this everyday, and I always find either an error or something I'll rephrase to make it flow better.
  5. Write at least two new articles- If you have time to write more, then by all means go for it! However, make sure you are putting your all into your articles. Don't write a bunch of junk just to have content on your page. Put some time and effort into it. If you are in the right niche, this should be the best part of what you're doing.
  6. If you have the time, do some more research on your topic- I like to take notes for different articles I'm going to write. I don't always get to this everyday, but I think another way to approach this would be to pick out a number of articles from your prompts list that you want to write throughout the week. Then pick a day or two to research those topics and take notes for each article.
I hope this helps you guys. If you have any more suggestions on what to do everyday whether it is for WA or your personal website, comment below!

You have a great talent for writing and I enjoy reading your blogs.
I just started and got some great ideas thanks.

Thank you so much! I'm happy you are enjoying them. Let me know if you need help with anything! I will assist you as best as I can. :)

Hi Maddie. You've put a lot of good ideas down in one place. Nice post.

Thank you. :)

Good advice

Thank you. :)

Wow! I'm very impressed with your ambition and organization! I'm definitely bookmarking this....maybe even print it out to help me get myself into a more productive mindset. Thanks so much!
Dennis

Hi Dennis! I'm happy I could help you. Do whatever you need with this! I usually check things off throughout the day. It's a nice feeling knowing that I completed all of my daily tasks. Best wishes to you!

This is a great blog, full of terrific content. I had to chuckle when you said your brain is scrambled nearly all the time. I had a two year old and a three year old at the time at one point. They're 19 and 20 now. Thank the good Lord I survived those days, so I totally understand how you feel! I'm a planner and list maker myself. Although I need to take some notes off of your blog. Thanks again for the information. I'm saving it. :)

Thank you! I'm happy I could be of some assistance for you. And you definitely understand what I mean with that scrambled brain then! My goodness, a two year old and a three year old at the same time. I don't know if I could handle that, haha :)

It was delightful and it was torture. But I wouldn't change a thing! LOL Have a great evening!

Hahaha! I can only imagine. It is worth it for sure! Thanks, you too.

Great idea. I will follow your example. I am a very organised person. I will get myself a few note book to write things down.
By the way, where do you get those free stock photos?

Thank you. I definitely recommend getting notebooks! I write EVERYTHING down. And I have bookmarked this link: https://bootstrapbay.com/blog/free-stock-photos/. It is a list of different free stock photo websites. I don't know which lesson you are on, but Kyle will also go through a few websites he uses such as Wikimedia Commons and sxe.hu. With sxe.hu I have had problems with that site, but if you google it more sites with free stock photos will pop up. The link I gave you, however, is a lot of really nice quality stock photos. The websites through that link are my go to when finding photos.

Thanks for your info.

Hello maddleboo5
Good post with some really good ideas. I was just thinking about becoming more organized.

Thank you (love everything about your username btw!). It is easy to get into a funk when you're not organized. I like to have a to-do list so even when I'm not feeling it, I can read the list and get back on track no matter what my mood that day. Best wishes to you!

Hi Madeline, nice post with some really usable tips thank you.
Alexander

Hi Alexander. No problem!

Yes, Thanks you Sheila for the Tips. Never really like to write but seeing how you do it really inspire me!

I'm glad! It can be hard if you don't have an outline of some sort. I realized when I do it this way, I can really get a lot more ideas out there and get past writer's block.

Very clear and concise!
I like how you number them so they can be checked off!
Great post to help others!
Sheila

Thanks Sheila!
