As 2015 Draws to a Close.
2016 is just around the corner and it has made me start looking back on 2015 and I realise what an absolutely amazing year it has been on so many levels.
I'll be honest here I have been feeling a little down recently, feeling like I haven't achieved much and that I want so much more than I have. And yes I have huge goals, that hasn't changed at all.
What has changed is that I am being a little nicer to myself after reflecting on the last year.
Here are some of the things I have achieved in 2015.
1. Quit smoking
Yeah I smoked for 22 years and it is an ugly, horrible habit. I've got an extra 5 kgs now due to compulsive snacking when I crave a cigarette. I'll face that little issue in 2016.
2. Clean from Alcohol and Drugs for 7 Years
Yes another milestone in my recovery from drugs and alcohol, 7 years in recovery and I feel amazing.
3. Married for 4 Years
I'm sure it doesn't sound like much to a lot of people but I think in this day and age it is a great achievement. So many people just get divorced when things get tough... and yes it hs gotten tough quite a few times. We have made it through and become stronger and happier together.
I feel I have reached a new level of happiness, acceptance and security in my marriage this year. Once again this feels great!
4. Being Mom
Yes I have been a mom for 4 years now but I really feel like the last few months has become easier. The baby years which were incredibly hard for me personally are past. This is sad in a lot of ways but I am coping better now that my son is 2 years old and my daughter is 4 years old.
Being a mom for me is different from "normal" people I think. 7 years ago I could barely keep myself alive and safe due to my lifetsyle of drinking and using drugs. The fact that I have not only managed to keep 2 little beings alive but healthy and well adjusted is the most insanely intense thing I have ever experienced.
Sure I am not the perfect mom, but damn I think I am quite good at this! When I think about how different my life is now and the love I have for these 2 perfect beings I am literally moved to tears.
5. I have launched another 2 websites all on my own thanks to WA
Six months ago I launched a make money online website and also a recovery from addiction website to add to my 2 websites I already had before joining WA.
6. I have started earning from my make money online website
Yes not a huge amount, just a little bit but I am proud of myself that it has begun and I plan to start growing this big time in 2016!
7. My recovery from addiction website is making a difference!
This is incredible for me. I had a lady phone me 3 weeks ago that lives a few towns away, she found me through my website. Like how insane is that?
Her brother is an addict and I could tell that the things I shared with her really hit home. She told me that she has started to understand a bit about addiction for the first time and feels like she can start to help her brother in the right way. This made me so happy.
I have also had lots of feedback from friends, family and other addicts on this website as well as members from WA.
This is a huge passion of mine and it helps me really work my program to share what I know. I work the 12 step program and step 12 is spreading the message and helping others. What better way to do this than to blog, I can reach so many people!
8. I am starting to make some money with training on WA
Yes who would have thought? I have published a few training tutorials on WA and I am being paid a little for that. I never knew that WA rewards members for training, I found out the nice way.
It is sort of like putting on a jacket you haven't worn in a long time and finding some cash in it when you are broke.... a really nice surprise!
The best part is that I really enjoyed doing it and I think the training I shared was needed on WA, I felt there was a gap. To then be surprised with some money was just mind blowing.
Of course it has motivated me to publish more training. I have to eat right? lol
9. I have learned so much!
Yes joining WA has taught me so much and I am so grateful. Every day I learn something new and exciting and I can't wait to implement it.
Great examples here are that I started publishing Youtube videos and I started focusing on email marketing and it has had an amazing effect on my online marketing and my reach.
And yes I will share some Youtube training when I get some more experience :)
10. I have grown as a person
Does that sound strange? Well it is true, I can feel it. No not physically grown (except for the extra 5 kg hahaha). I can feel that all these incredible changes have literally changed me as a person. Changed me for the better.
There is nothing better than being able to grow spiritually as a person and I think 2015 has been a wonder year for me. I believe that WA has been instrumental in this growth by giving me the support and putting me in direct contact with awesome, like minded people!
So I thank WA, Kyle and Carson, as well as every member here. You have made my year! I cannot remember being so happy and at one with myself as I am at this point in my life.
I can't wait to see what 2016 brings, I can feel that this mind blowing shift this year is just the beginning and that there is going to be an explosion of great things to come very soon.
I'll catch you all on the other side!

Congratulations Lynne! It seems as if you overcame so much this past year. I wish you continued success on your journey. My late Mom had a very appropriate piece of advice that she used to always tell me and which I think would apply here for you. It is the following: Continue taking it one day at a time!
Best wishes to you in 2016 Lynne!
Jeff
Great advice Jeff and yes that is what the program teaches me, 24 hours at a time. Even sometimes an hour at a time when the going gets tough!
Can't seem to figure why you feel down with all these accomplishments...God Bless...Bill.
Hey Bill. I just set such high expectations for myself and then when I reach them I just set some more goals instead of pat myself on the back.
This makes me achieve a lot but it also makes me beat myself up a lot.
Ummm ... YEAH! I can tell you I have seen a ton of progress on your part. And that list is nothing short of impressive. IF you can quit smoking, drugs and alcohol you can move mountains girl! WTG! And have a HAPPY, safe and profitable New Year :-)
Thanks :) And yeah I will have a wonderful sober new years celebration with my little family!
Congrats on a great list of achievements in 2015. We do love to dwell on what we haven't done and don't have, so good job on reminding yourself of the excellent things you did accomplish this year.
Cheers to a great 2016.
You are an inspiration! Thank you for sharing that shows you care for others to let them know what you have gone through and what you are achieving! You Rock!
It is a pleasure Keith, we forget all these things we have achieved and have a "I'll be happy when attitude" don't we?
Well I have decided to be happy today and proud of myself lol
You are so right Lynne! Be happy and enjoy life to the fullest! I can only take it one day at a time and look forward to great success as we build together for a great life! Our families need us and we are the batteries that keep them going!
Well done on such a huge list of achievements this year. I wish you all the very best for 2016 and beyond :)
Thanks Jude, I think it is really important to reflect on things. Just yesterday I was feeling like I hadn't achieved enough in 2015... just goes to show we must really be honest with ourselves, be easy on ourselves and be grateful for what we have right?

What a wonderful & inspiring post! Thank you so much for the share!:) P.S. 4 months sober Today for me, now just to quit the smoking which I'm close.... only 6 a day.:)
Well done, that is amazing! Check out my website lynnelivingwithaddiction.com when you get some time, I would love to share that with you.
With the smoking, my advice is in early recovery to just smoke like a chimney. One thing at a time, just concentrate on being sober for now. If you do that then you have the rest of your life to quit smoking.
PS I blogged about my quitting smoking which you might find very entertaining :)
