The Metrics

For a long time, I was so engrossed in the training for new members that I didn't take much notice of the metrics constantly under my profile image on the dashboard.

Then one day I came across training that clearly explained how to become a good member of WA. The parameters that were important all revolved around helping other people as much as possible. At that stage I decided to make a spreadsheet of my metrics and monitor them daily for at least one week.

On day one of this exercise, my rank was a solid five figure number. From then onwards I dedicated three hours per day to welcoming new members, chatting to old members, and being generally active in the chat room. Other activities I did from about day three were to follow others and to create and publish new posts. It wasn't long before I saw the rank position go a little higher.

Two weeks later when I had issues at home that caused a temporary halt in my activity, the rank plummeted again to an even lower level than the one that had perturbed me when I first started monitoring it.

When I re-dedicated more time to commenting on others' posts and websites and asking for feedback or comments on my work, the rank correspondingly climbed higher.

Okay I know the rank isn't everything but it sure worked as an approximate indicator of my activity.

It was then I realized my main competition is ME.

My own efforts are the single most important factor in determining just how well I do in this WA world of affiliate marketing.

That's comforting to know because I am in utter control of what I do or don't do.

For 2020, I intend to be more fierce competition to myself so that I can be in contention for going to the WA Las Vegas conference this year ... watch this space :-)
