I agree with this former Google executives that Artificial Intelligence may represent a future and in my opinion already present danger. What I retain especially from this article is what we are already doing with it. Nowadays the world has become, (but wasn’t it always?) violent, greedy, in constant competition, can I add indifference?. Unfortunately, these are the values that our society through powerful medias and VDO games project to our children and we are all a little responsible. At WA, we all know what it means to help each other, and we must continue like this to make us all happy.

Good night or Happy day to all

A former Google X executive says that it only takes one change to avoid apocalyptic AI scenarios - and that concerns you directly

Elon Musk, Stephen Hawking and Steve Wozniak fear that artificial intelligence (AI) technologies will be a danger in the future.

And they are not the only ones: apocalyptic scenarios have been devised by the insurer Allianz, for example, in the case where AI was used for malicious purposes.

But to prevent these scenarios from ever becoming a reality, Mo Gawdat, a former chief business officer (CBO) of Google X, Alphabet's crazy betting laboratory, told Business Insider France that it is really enough to change one thing:

"The only answer to having a better future is to understand that the way machines learn is exactly the same as the way we learned when we were children. And today, machines learn from us - we are their parents."

The one who left Google X a short while ago to "make a billion people happy" through his #onebillionhappy movement continues:

"All you need to do is give priority to your happiness so that the interactions you have with the web are'I care about being happy' and'I care about making others happy'. If you can teach these two things to the machines, they will become caring teenagers."

The former Google X framework thus indicated that the real problem is the values we are currently transmitting to machines with AI:

"And what do they learn from their parents? They learn from violence, greed, competitiveness, ego, all the habits we establish in the modern world, which never include:'I want to be happy' or'I care about someone else's well-being'.

According to Mo Gawdat, AI technologies will be "the smartest creatures on Earth in less than 15 years or even 40 years, whatever. He said that there is no point in trying to fool them by influencing data sets, putting in security firewalls or regulating them, because machines will find ways to get around all this, being smarter than us.

Very thought provoking Joel, thanks for sharing. If only such powerful intellectual resources could be applied to solving hunger and famine in the world, it would be a tremendous step forward for humanity, Best Alan
