Starting with Trepidation

The path is mapped out for me, all I have to do is walk along it. So why the sudden panic and freeze? Maybe some of you have had this already, and moved on. Maybe some of you are going through it now.

Realy its so easy, the path is built for me and I'm following so many that have gone before me. Yet I get into a panic, freeze up and then hide from the whole attempt to build this business. Why? Fear of failing, fear of the unknown?

From the start I had thourght that choosing a niche, for me, would be the easy bit. The only bit I didn't have any doubts about. Yet it turns out to be the hardest bit. Not because I don't know my subject, but because I don't know the boundaries of it and which parts should be aimed at which audience and what should be aimed at another. How many websites do I want to run, and actually how many do I have time to run.

I've had some great advice from this community, through the live chat and from the person who invited me to join WA. But the most important thing I got was some of the personal experiences, which for me makes the whole thing real and relatable. You see the biggest fear I have is that its all ultimately not real. At least not real to me, yet. And here is the catch 22 because it'll only become real when I get it to work, but it won't work unless I believe in it.

Maybe the reason why some of us get stuck, at some point is not becasue we can't figure out the niche, or the technology, or make the time, but because of something else, silently underground, finding some random excuse to stop us from moving forward. We may even have an inbuilt desire to keep things as they are, even when they are very uncomfortable. A desire to be right, right where we are. To justify where we have always been.

So the real challenge here isn't to figure out a nich, nor it it to be good at writing, nor is it finding the time. Nor is it even learning to believe in something you can not see yet. The real challenge is to smash through our own status quo and embrace change.

Thanks for reading, hope it helped someone with some food for thourght.
