Why Are Books So Important?
I cannot lie, today I was not feeling inspired to write, on no, not at all. Here's a confession, I was "wasting time on Facebook" when I stumbled across two items which brought this blog about. They led me to write this little article and address the question: Why Are Books So Important?
We All Need Books Inside Us

I Opened A Book
“I opened a book and in I strode.
Now nobody can find me.
I've left my chair, my house, my road,
My town and my world behind me.
I'm wearing the cloak, I've slipped on the ring,I've fought with a dragon, dined with a king
And dived in a bottomless ocean.
I opened a book and made some friends.
I shared their tears and laughter
And followed their road with its bumps and bends to the happily after.
I finished my book and out I came.
The cloak can no longer hide me.
My chair and my house are just the same,
But I have a book inside me.”
-Julia Donaldson
Those words transported me to a different place, where my imagination kicked in and quelled the apathy which greeted me this morning as a result of focusing on the pressures of life rather than the pleasures.

Indeed, reading is a pleasure - it can take us to places we have never so much as dreamed of. It can turn our mood around, our frame of reference, give us a paradigm shift (as Scott Peck says in his "Road Less Traveled"). Ah, reading, we should all indulge in this pastime and share the benefits of this indulgence with one another.
The Wonder Of Books

"What an astonishing thing a book is.
It's a flat object made from a tree
with flexible parts on which are imprinted lots
of funny dark squiggles.
But one glance at it and
Your're inside the mind of another person,
Maybe someone dead for thousands of years
Across the millennia, an author is speaking
Clearly and silently inside your head,
Directly to you.
Writing is perhaps the greatest of human inventions,
Binding together people who never knew each other
Citizens of distant epochs
Books break the Shackles of Time
A book is proof that humans are capable of working
MAGIC."
Carl Sagan
Inspiration From Many Sources

This image was not exactly what I was searching for but the text spoke to me loud and clear!
"Think before you speak" is something I have spoken about in a previous blog and will always hold true.
"Read before you think" has been my lesson for today and I share it with you, gratitude in my heart that I have learned it and have this wonderful WA community to share this with.
Why Are Book So Important?
When it comes to dragging us out of our fog, I believe that question has been answered. The above two passages are inspiring and uplifting.
What about the other advantages of reading?
Knowledge -
The more we know, the more we can grow, the more we can inspire, the more we have to share, the more we have to give! Knowledge is indeed power!

Motivation -
The more motivated we are the more we can motivate, the more we can encourage, the more we can achieve, the more we can make a difference in the lives of others!

Understanding -
The more we understand, the more we accept, the more we share, the more we trust, the more we relate, the more value we recognise

What Does This All Have to Do With Wealthy Affiliates?
We need to be seen as authorities in our fields, our websites should reflect at least everything listed above -
- Knowledge
- Growth
- Inspiration
- Sharing
- Giving
- Power
- Motivation
- Encouragement
- Achievement
- Making a difference in the lives of others
- Understanding
- Acceptance
- Trust
- Relatability
- Value
I am sure you have many words to add to this list, please feel free to leave them in the comments below.
For now, I am inspired and will be working on my site, following the amazing WA training and reveling in the inspiration and motivation given by "wasting time on Facebook" and endeavouring to answer the question "Why Are Books So Important?"
I hope you are inspired and look forward to receiving your thoughts and comments...
Blessings as always!

Hi Louise!
It is ok to switch off for a while sometimes. I think it can actually help when you are stuck. That time spent on Facebook allowed you to create this great post. Thank you!

Of course, Louise! I’m sensitive to that, because I’m also guilty of too engrossed with the community, lol. Of course it’s not a bad thing.

Hi Raju
Thank you.
I found the images in the same place that we write our blogs. You will see a toolbar and one of the options looks a bit like a mountain - click on that, type in a word and it will bring up the images related to that word.

Hi Louise,
I enjoyed reading your post. Very inspiring and so true. I love to read! In fact I read everyday, especially my bible. But I have a Kindle Fire from Amzaon and I get free books everyday on it. So, I never run out of things to read. Reading is my favorite passtime and helps me realx.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on books.
Happy reading! :)
Donna
Thank you Donna.
I'm really happy to see you enjoyed this post. I love my Bible - TD Jakes, Woman Thou Art Loosed - but should read it more than I do. It's true, we run out of time way before we run out of reads!
Thank you for popping by, reading and commenting.
Have a great weekend!
Blessings
Louise
