Shout Out To ZachK - What An Incredible Community We Have in WA!
For anyone who may have missed it, I recently requested assistance within WA with a very sketchy looking logo I had been given to work with. This is a quick shout out to ZachK for producing a perfect logo which has already been approved by the management of the children's home. What an incredible community we have in WA - thank you, Zach for being an exemplary member who went above and beyond anything I asked for!
Our Starting Point
As you can see from the above image, the starting point was indeed sketchy. Not only were the images questionable due to how blurry they are, the letters in the logo needed changing. I can only assume that the children's home name originally began with an S.
Now is known as Orange Farm Children's Home - hence the change of lettering.
Spoiled For Choice!
As you will see in the feature image, there were two options created by ZachK! Speak about spoiled for choice!
Personally my preference was the clowns with the African animal heads. However, I am culturally sensitive (as is Zach) and realized that these may have other implications when it came to a culture different from my own.
The reasons I preferred this option were twofold, my initial delight was in the fact that the concept in clever and makes use of African animals for a children's home based in Africa.
The second reason is because my mind raced ahead to where we could have all sorts of interesting social media campaigns making use of the animals - quiz type posts to create engagement, i.e. which is the fastest out of these animals.
I also saw different areas of the children's home being named after each one of the animals. We could have had so much fun with this..
Alas, that was not to be. The team at OFCH opted for the clowns!
Don't get me wrong, I have no issue with the clowns (oh, ok, I may have been a bit of a scardy cat as a kid when it came to clowns).
We could create a buzz with the colours and play on the clowns too, I guess.
The reason the clowns were selected over the African animals has not been shared with me. I will ask if I get to meet with the team and come back to let you know.
Ta Da!
Drum roll please ..... here it is in all its glory! The approved new logo of Orange Farm Children's Home.
I love the way ZachK played with the colours in the lettering, how clever!
I shall be unveiling this new logo on the OFCH Facebook page this evening. The letterhead will also need to be recreated - which is a complete cinch now that I have this beautiful logo in a png file.
Thank you To Everyone
A big thank you to everyone who took the time to read the question and offer advice when I asked for assistance, and to more than one person who raised their hand to assist.
I cannot tell you how much that meant to me.
But The Biggest Thank You Goes to ZachK
@ZachK you truly are a God send! You rose to the occasion without any qualms and private messaged me with two design options.
I am so grateful that you took the time to not only create a beautiful logo but you went the extra mile and created two options.
On top of that, you were happy to change the lettering and send the changes through as fast as "Grease Lightening"!
Thank you for touching not only my heart but also the hearts of the team at OFCH by responding to a prompt you felt in your spirit.
As you already know, it's not about me, it's about the amazing children who are the ultimate beneficiaries of your generosity and talent.
These children are the few (relative to how much need there is in South Africa) who have been fortunate enough to land in a wonderful place where they are being loved, protected, cared for, provided for, educated and so much more!
Thank you everyone for reading this quick blog. Whilst you're here, please share which of the two logos you prefer, and why that one is your preference.
Will be great to hear from you!
Blessings as always
Louise and Orange Farm Children's Home, South Africa

Hi there, Louise.
Thank you for sharing this enlightening, impactful story. You have put your heart and soul into this project and I know you will reap the benefits of your and Jack's labor. Our children are our prized possessions.
Although I find both logos very creative, I choose the clowns for now.
Rachele
Thank you Rachele
I really appreciate your kind words. Sharing your choice is also very much appreciated.
Louise
You're very welcome, Louise!
Although the ultimate credit goes to God; I really appreciate you taking the time to write this, as well as for your selflessness in all the work you do for the children's home, and I have to assume other places too :)
And just knowing that you and the children's home liked and can use the logo makes my week, and it just started.
I hope you have a great and Blessed rest of yours!
Zach "The Prosperous View"
You truly are a special guy, Zach!
We are more than happy to have contributed to a positive start to the week 😁 you'll have to write a blog at the end of the week sharing just how the rest of the week panned out, lol!
I've just gotten started with the pro bono work for OFCH, sadly it may be short-lived though, it looks like I'm about to be appointed GM at another children's home.
Being employed by one and pro bono for another will be a conflict of interest. I can still teach the team at OFCH, they will have to take the knowledge I share and run with it themselves.
Getting everything just right for a logo is demanding.
Congratulations for the results. Yes, our community is again proving that what we have is truly great.

Definitely reach out to ZachK, he seems to be quite busy at the moment and despite that, he took this task on without a blink of an eye! Amazing
Enjoy your day too, Roy.

Good morning Zach,
My apologies, I have just messaged you, that was before I saw your comment!
All is well, thank you. Vasiliki is in Greece at the moment, I was there a few weeks ago. I would like to go out again at the end of the month or early September. I think prices will come down then.
How are you getting on?
Have a great day.
Roy
Hey Roy,
That's funny, I just messaged you back, before I read your comment... Haha!
