Reminds me of this expression: "None so queer as folk, except for thee and me, an even thee is a little strange" I learned that saying from a wonderful English woman I worked with in South Africa.

Here is the origin of it:
Proverb. there's nowt so queer as folk. (simile, colloquial, Yorkshire, Lancashire) Nothing is as strange as people can be; people can behave very oddly sometimes..
