It is so important to know and remember your "why"
Do you know why you are working so hard at your Wealthy Affiliate business? Do you know what drives you in life, what your passion and purpose is? It is so important to know and remember your "why".
My Heart's Desire
To create a life of geographic and financial freedom so that I can make a difference in the lives of others
Mine is to create a life of geographic and financial freedom so that I can make a difference in the lives of others. My hearts desire is to help wherever help is needed, I believe that this is my purpose and it was put there by God.
How do I know?
There have been many, many confirmations, this has been undoubtedly the toughest, and is also the most recent....
Recently I was told about a baby girl born to a 20-year-old mum and living in a shack. This young mommy is not educated, she is not employed, has no money. The baby girl was nappied in plastic bags at that time. My heart broke when I heard about her. I remembered my baby shower and the gifts, oh, the gifts! My baby girl was welcomed into this world with so much excess. She was celebrated, clothed, clean, dry, warm, fed and of course, she was loved, so very loved.
The young mommy's milk had dried up as she didn't have enough to eat, nourish her own body and produce milk for her little baby. I thought about the excess of food, thrown away casually in so many homes, restaurants, supermarkets. My heart broke again.
Somehow I made a plan. I bought nappies (cloth for ongoing use), a couple of basic outfits, some baby products, a container of baby formula to tide baby over and a bottle. I managed to enlist help from others and we put together nourishing soups, fresh food, parcels for mommy and her tiny baby girl - even chocolate for mommy, she was over the moon! The children's home I am involved with also put a huge bag of toys, disposable nappies and gorgeous warm clothes together for this young mommy. It felt so good to make a difference in the lives of this young mommy and her little baby.
This is my purpose, this is my passion - placed in my heart by my creator.
Disbelief
Last Friday I was eyeball deep in finalising my Black Friday website when I received the news. With absolute disbelief and shock, I stared at the screen, unable to comprehend what I had heard. Unable to extract myself from the time stress of getting this website up and running. Unwilling to face the truth. My blood ran cold.
Our baby girl, now 5 months old, had passed away on Thursday night. The young mommy said she was sick for 2 hours only and then passed.
Still, now, I am in shock and disbelief. So heart sore for this young woman, just so heart sore! She is a broken young woman. Absolutely broken. "Grief is the price of love" - she loved her baby girl beyond comprehension.
Money
Yesterday I learned that she doesn't have enough money to bury her baby. Again, the disbelief stunned me into shock. The very poor community around her are putting in 10 Rand, 20 Rand - the little bits they can each afford. It's a long way from the 3600 Rand this mommy needs for a basic funeral.
Last night, I finally shook myself out of the shock long enough to send Whatsapp messages to some beautiful people, and appealed to them for assistance. I don't have the money to give this mommy - if I did, I would have met her at the funeral home today and paid the bill in full.
And THIS is my "why"
This is why I have to make money - to make a difference in the lives of others. This is what drives me.
People are incredible
Given the opportunity, people are incredible. I received responses for contributions within minutes of sending out that Whatsapp message. I have no doubt that we will foot the bill - and more, hopefully enough to help the young mommy find a way forward.
We don't need to understand
Perhaps this is my way of reaching a place of acceptance when I am exposed to the many hardships of life, I truly believe we don't need to understand. But we do need to do. Perhaps the tragedies of life come our way to bring out the love in us, the resilience, the compassion, the empathy.
Whatever it is, I just hope and pray that it takes us to our reason for being, our purpose and our passion.
We don't need to understand, but we do need to know our "why". I pray you know yours, that you are driven to succeed so that you can fulfill your purpose in this life.
So sorry for sharing this sadness, for even having the occasion to be so desperately sad. I have more than one reason for sharing,
- one is selfish: to help me manage these unwanted emotions;
- the second is to galvanise myself back into action - paralysed by grief is not a place to stay - selfish too, without action though, I am no good to anyone
- last, but definitely not least, to encourage you to seek your purpose and respond to it

There is a special place for people like you. God Bless you for doing all you can. Helping others is a choice and so many can just look away. I know I cannot do that. You are an angel.
Thank you - I am blessed in so many ways. I can only think that those who look away do so because they don't realize how little they need to do to make such a massive difference to others. Maybe that is our job as fellow human beings, to show them the way - this only occurred to me now, interesting.
Thank you again and God bless you too.
Louise
What a sad story, and a testament to so many who suffer without the basics.
You are an angel and remember you did the very, very best that you could!
Yes, too many people suffer needlessly right across the globe.
Thank you for reminding me that I did the best I could - you read between the lines and understood my deepest pain right there.
Blessings
Louise

Hi Andries
It's incredible, I have seen the expression "we attract our tribe" and it certainly is happening for me within WA.
Thank you for your message and for reminding us that it is privilege that places us in a position to help.

Very human everything or that decides we do not have to seek to understand, why, we must do, help in everything we can. Thank you I also believe in God our Lord!
Agreed, it is very human to try and understand and that is that always required of us. Wonderful to meet a fellow believer here.
Blessings
Louise

Louise you are a gift to all of us. Thank you for having such a caring heart.
Thank you Rose, this soft heart can be a heavy load at times, I am learning not to rely on my strength though - part of my journey.
Blessings
Louise
