Getting out of the herd
This morning we went on our ritualistic Sunday groceries shopping to Costco. For those of you that don't know what Costco is, it is a wholesale warehouse shopping center that carry anything from home electronics, clothing, outdoor supplies, and food.
Now, the amount of traffic in Costco depends on what time of the day it is.
And to make it worse, people don't pay attention too where they are going. So far I've seen a couple of grocery cart accidents and it seemed like the people who got into those accidents were in a grocery cart rage state of mind.
So as I was following my significant other down the isle, it dawned on me the biggest reason as to why I'm working on building an online business. And that is so I can avoid the herd of people and do things that are the opposite of what everyone else is doing.
This is a sample of what my future will look like when I don't have to contend with the herd.
- I get up when I want too
- I work as long as I want on my business. And no one limiting the amount of hours I can work so as to not infringe on their payroll budget.
- Go to sleep when I want too
- Leave my business on hold for the day if I'm not up to working
- Spend time with my family and friends
- Take a flight back home to Hawaii whenever I want too
- Work from Hawaii on the beach
- Inspire my family and friends so they realize that they can get away from the herd too.
- I can go shopping when there isn't too many people at the stores
- Sit on the beach for inspiration to create and build another business
Well that is just a sample of what it will look like, and I'm pretty sure that I'll create more when I get to that point. Now let me ask you. What do you want your future to look like?

I love it Louis. I feel the same way in Costco and about Rush Hour traffic.
My future will consist of owning our own multi-plex properties (we already have a 4-plex of our own and manage another 6-plex) and running my websites. Our dream is to work on the property and websites full time and quit both of our jobs.
That means we could travel whenever we want as long as we have someone to take care of the properties. We could also move somewhere else if we wanted if we sold the properties or had a manager. If that was the case we could move anywhere in the world we wanted to go as long as there was internet.
That dream also means we would be free to move back out to the remote, beautiful parts of Alaska where we each grew up if we so choose. Right now that is impossible due to the jobs.
Keep at it and make that dream come true!
I understand your desire to go back to Hawaii. Living in Alaska we are able to go to Hawaii more often than most since it is just one direct flight away. We were married in Hawaii but have not been back since. We want to go.

We will all reach there sooner or later. We just have to keep chipping away at it day after day. And the next thing you know, we’ll be there. One thing that we should all look at is to enjoy the journey along the way.
