Adding Value

I'm sitting here after a long day at work listening to lo-fi hip hop through my headphones. This is my daily after-work chill out routine that I use for relaxation and as always, it works. I am immediately transported to this Zen-like state where my consciousness fluctuates between contemplation and absolute contentment.

Contemplation

In my quiet moments I often engage in reflection - asking important questions, taking stock of my journey and activities, reviewing my goals, thinking of family and generally putting Life into perspective.

The excitement I feel on this online business journey is a welcome emotion. For some time now, I had forgotten what it felt like to become excited about something new. I couldn't quite place my finger on it. Maybe it was the numbing of my senses from getting bombarded with toxic and needles information on social media.

Many times we get submerged with tons of information from different media sources.Too much information actually. With time, I realized that over-exposure to these sources of information did me more harm than good. So, I decided on focusing my attention on information which would bring me value and help me achieve my goals.

Setting Goals

I heard a man once say, "If you don't know where you are going, then everywhere looks like the right destination."

In the past, I set many goals - fitness goals, dietary goals, academic goals, relationship goals, travel goals, certification goals, etc and I am proud to say that I hit all of them. Looking back now, I came to the realization that I never set financial goals. It might be embarrassing to admit it but, yeah, there is it. I never set financial goals! I put it down to my nature - how I am not materialistic, how I am not greedy and all the best altruistic excuses a man may come up with. Not good enough.

This year however, I decided all that had to change. I need more money. We all do. There is no beating about the bush on this one. More money would go a long way in living a satisfying life and meeting a lot of needs. So, I scoured the internet in the hope of finding information on how to make money online. I remember my search entry on Google a few weeks back - "How to make $100 a day". That, for me, was the beginning.

WA - A value adding social media platform

Enter Wealthy Affiliate.

I joined Wealthy Affiliate a few weeks back and I must say the journey so far has been amazing. The atmosphere here is way different than what is obtained on other social media sites. No toxicity - just value adding information. I knew I had come to the right place.

The people here are wonderful and willing to help. The quality of information and training on succeeding in the online business world is next to none. Fantastic deal for the subscription fee. After a few days of watching the training videos, experiencing the warmth and friendliness of the members, I instantly upgraded to premium.

Add Value

While going through the training videos and setting up my first website, I made a promise to myself that whatever information I gave to my audience must truly add value to their lives. It's Ok to dream of making thousands of dollars every month but it shouldn't come at the expense of not giving value or helping people.

In one of the videos, Kyle emphasized the importance of truly wanting to help people with valuable content. I think this cannot be negotiated.

As we continue on this journey, it is important to remind ourselves of one of the noble reasons why we are doing this.

Let's add and give value while we make money.

It's a win-win situation.

To your unending success,

Victor
