We are to become writers.

In the short time that I've been a part of Wealthy Affiliate, I've come to love and respect the place, there is no way I can deny it. In the last five days I've learned and taken more action in any business endeavor than ever before in my life. Not only making me online-wiser but, the site has manage to instill in me the confidence that I'm not alone and that it can be done.

Although, I've only completed the Online Entrepreneur Certification - Getting Started (Level 1), it is clear that our greatest and perhaps our only asset (for those of us that do not have a product) is our opinion, our recommendations, our unique ways we see the world, and to convey this we are to become writers.

If you are like me, the thought of becoming a writer might set off some very real, quiet alarms, some of you might even say, I don't even read! How am I to become a writer? To you I say: you have to, because you have no other choice. We are going to need help beyond the marketing, we need editors.

Here is another excellent revenue avenue for the Wealthy Affiliate empire, offer an editor service. To clarify, I don't mean offer something like Microsoft Word or Google Docs; I mean there should be a real person reading our articles before we post to our blogs, someone that has sympathetic eyes for our content but that is not too good of a friend, someone metaphorically reading over our shoulders, making sure we don't write anything overly stupid, quietly shouting; Clarity, clarity, clarity!

If I'm standing alone on an island about this, I say "oh well", but as I see the nature of what we are going to do, we can only benefit by having people read our words before publishing them, which could only assure to maximize our return.

Feel free to disagree, craft an argument.

Oscar.

Agree. Writing is the foundation of communication. Now effective writing, no matter how many words, takes a little more work to keep your reader reading.

The first job of a writer is clarity, and the easiest thing for a reader to do is stop reading.

Not a bad idea at all.

pm me with your next copy. I will make suggestions for you to consider. Best wishes, Andy

I am not too sure that I am a great writer either. But I am a good editor of writing. So, I am willing to help if needed.

Agree ... in this group is better than being alone ... smile

Ah but we are not an island. We are connected beneath the waves...in the ocean's floor (that's how I roll...er, write:)...I think people should read our words and feel compelled to respond. That's engagement and dialogue in its best form. And to do that we each must find our voice that attracts the attention of those others. What caught my attention here was your challenge to craft an argument. My cup of tea. Great post.

Not an Island, okay, a dry patch of real estate surrounded by the gentle ebb and flow of splashing waves :)

OK, so... what are you going to name this new editing business? :)

1

I never thought of a name, I'm not pitching a business per say, just pointing out that there is a need to be filled.

And I asked when you are starting it, lol and what you are naming it.
I an goofing with you :)
. I think it is a great idea!

I don't call it writing...that sounds way too institutionalized. You are communicating with others via your websites and helping people out. If you can accomplish this, you build trust and you have a business on your hands.

We have many active threads here at wa where you can get feedback on your website. There is one way to get better at creating content, practice.

Expressing thoughts on a page through words however well meaning, must be done eloquently, not short in clarity and aiming at brevity, I think.

As it stands I'm an illiterate clog mulling his way along. Yet is nice to know that I can get feedback from other members about my site, as I mentioned earlier, this is only my fifth day.

Yup, you will be writing a lot. And it will get easier with exercise :-)
