Hey ya'll. I'm Lauwren (yep...unique spelling) but people call me Lo. I'm from the land of Oz (Kansas). Welcome to one of the longest profiles ever. Haha!

After high school I did a couple of college semesters and hated it. Mostly because I was bored. I'm a book worm by nature. I can learn anything remotely interesting (which unfortunately most of my course material wasn't) at least 10X faster and more efficiently by reading than any other method.

I always Loved...

Reading and writing. I wanted to be a writer at some point and could never figure out how to make that happen within the guidelines my parents set (go to college and get a job and get out of our house), outside of being a journalist, which I didn't want to be. I was shy and didn't want to do a job where I had to talk to people in person.

So... since I couldn't figure out how to make it work quickly, and college was boring me to academic death, I decided to dropout and get a job.

I started working in customer support. At first it was pretty awesome. These jobs are usually pay for performance and so easy a caveman could do it. I did it. I made a good deal of money. Eventually I became burned out though, and often sabotaged myself out of jobs when I started to hate them too much.

At my most recent employment separation, I decided to do things differently. I am nearing 30 and I realized I have no stable career. I hated everything I was doing and wanted to find a way to do what I always loved: read and write.

So...after a lot of internet research, I decided to try my hand at freelance copywriting. But I was a beginner. I needed practice.

So I started at Text Broker (which some of you might be familiar with) and discovered I was pretty good. After doing that awhile I realized that while I liked it to a degree, I was still not completely satisfied. If i'm making a change, might as well make it perfect, right?

So I jumped back on Google and began searching for better opportunities. I discovered this wonderful place via Steve's "Ive Tried That" site. Since I've been here, it's been bliss. I'm so happy to be able to say I've found a way to do away with "hate" (career wise). I now love every aspect of what I'm doing.

So that's my story. In case you needed any other details, here are a few:

I don't have kids, but I'm a proud aunt! No, I'm not married.

Favorite Genre of Books: probably self-help with urban fantasy coming in a close 2nd.

I love pomegranate martini's, I'm allergic to cats, love Zumba for exercise, love green smoothies & juice, eventually want to have my own vegetable garden. Despite my new tendencies toward health/ nutrition my favorite food is still pizza.

I'm usually funny only when I'm not trying to be, I can't swim (so don't push me off the edge!),
never been to Vegas (never gambled. Never even bought a lottery ticket).

After reading, my next faves are: shopping, movies and True Blood (one of a small few series I watch online).

Hope that's enough! I look forward to meeting all of you guys. This is such a supportive community and I am very proud to be a part of it.

Hello! Trying this again...

I'd be happy with 60K per year, but I would be ecstatic making 100K+ per year. I am not working, and have no other long term commitments, so I am planning to commit at or above 40 hours per week just like a regular job! I'd love to see my happy goal in a year!
