Website Finally Up After Exactly a Month - See You Out There!
A few years ago when I wanted to develop my own e-commerce site for my vintage clothing business and was looking into various ecommerce platforms, I thought I’d try Wordpress. I’ve been working on a computer since the ’80s—WordStar, Lotus 1-2-3 anyone?—so I’m not a Luddite but far from a techie and found trying to deal with the issue of installing a self-hosted Wordpress site difficult and then trying to learn it very frustrating on my own.
I gave up and found another content provider that was slightly easier for me to use, not that different than Wordpress in many ways, but somehow easier for me. There was a decent amount of support and some training videos but it paled compared to the resources available here where not only do you learn step-by-freaking-step how to install and build a website but all the marketing aspects that go along with it. Long story short, in a year’s time, I never sold one thing on that site, closed it, and went over to a couple of established venues with built-in audiences.
The idea of affiliate marketing had been in the back of my mind for some time but I had never investigated it. At the end of 2014 when I started to think about what I wanted for the coming year, such as make more money, I started to think about it more seriously. Of course WA came up in my search and the rest is (a very short) history. The difference in having the support and training has made all the difference and I’m proud that I’ve now been able to get my own site up using the previously despised Wordpress platform.
My website is still in the very early stages; I only have a couple of posts up, and I now also have Twitter and Google+ accounts, all listed to the right. Hope you’ll take a look and get in touch with me either here or “out there.” I'm know I'm going to start to get more in touch with my WA friends who are also on social media. Thanks!
All the best,
Liz

Thanks!! Loved your story. I can definitely relate as I tend to be tenacious when I want something. I know when I forget to eat I'm enjoying what I'm working on. :-)
