Recently some members have been asking why there Site Trust monitors are not moving.

The simple answer:

~ It takes time

~ Patience

~ Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Time and Patience

The Site Meter is not broken, stuck or faulty. It is indicating that your website is still brand new and in its infancy. It will take time and patience for the meter to start moving.

I can hear you screaming the question: How long is that going to take?

Don't panic. The meter will start moving by 10% increments for each full month that your site has been live and active.

Example: I have a site that is registering 70% on the Site Trust meter. This means that my site is only seven months old, just a baby. Ahhh.......

Content

The more quality content you place on your site, the more visitors you will attract. Content helps to nurture your baby (Your Site) and helps it to develop and grow into the authority site you dream of to make you a very proud parent.

Keywords

Keywords are not just for fantastic headings. They also help get your site seen in a lot more places all over the net.

So the more posts/pages you produce for your niche:,

The more:

  • People will see your site.
  • The search engines will rank you higher.
  • Visitors you will get on your site.
  • Sales and commissions you will earn.

Authority

Building authority is building a knowledge bank on your site making it the go-to place for information, products, help and advice in your niche.

At this point, your baby (Your Site) has become the adult that you have spent time nurturing, feeding and helping to grow.

As mentioned, it takes time, hard work, and patience to help a baby develop into a beautiful and confidently adult to make you proud.

Good points here Lis
This is not a get trusted/rich quick scheme ;-)
Mark

I agree. It is a build a business the right way scheme and gain trust as your business matures. :)

A great explanation Lis. I hope everyone reads this. ~Marion

Thank you, Marion. I am glad that it is making sense.

Lis.

Excellent post, Lis. If people stop and think there are many traditional businesses that take a looooooong time to get out of the red and actually start making profit for its owners. Same here, only the investment is more about the learning and the hard, dedicated, work along the way. Still takes time, but may cost you less and YOU/WE get the full benefit. I love your analogy with the growing process being like our children. Nice. My best to you.
Dan

Hi Dan,

It is difficult for people to fully understand the time it takes for a business to grow when they have never done this before. So, I thought that comparing a new business to a growing baby/child would help to make more sense of the process. :).

Thank you for taking the time to read my post and for understanding the analogy.

Lis.

You're welcome, Lis. And it is no problem because I always enjoy your words here. I learn from you and I'm inspired by you. May you enjoy a blessed day.
Dan

My websites are all about a year old, and have all 100% now
So it's a matter of time.

That is fantastic Loes. That means that they are established in their niches and you are an authority to be reckoned with. :)

Never thought of it that way:)

thank you for the post Lis

Hey Gerard, you are welcome. :)

Lis thank you so much for this. Sherrie

You are welcome, Sherrie. :)

Know that the road is not short. Thanks for the glogs to remind us!
Sami

Hi Sami,

I agree, the road is long for long term success. Thank you for reading my post.

Lis.

With every new business there is a period of time where you have to grow and publicise it until it becomes recognised. Internet marketing is no different.

I totally agree Bella. Setting up a business takes a lot of time for it to become established.

However, people who have never run a business before tend to find it difficult to comprehend that it is basically like asking 'how long is a piece of string'.

In my opinion, time and patience are always the way forward.

I set up my 1st business in 1990 it is still going strong is recognised not only in my area but in surrounding areas as well.

Thank you, Bella, for sharing. That shows the long-term value of setting up a business. If everything is done right in the beginning then a business can be very rewarding for years to come.

Congratulations on your 15 years of business success.

Lis.

believe me it is no easy ride and there are many times where you feel like giving up but slowly it starts to make money and take off. And thank you .

I totally and truly understand.

I also ran a bricks and mortar business in the 80's, which was very successful, but when the recession struck I decided to close it down. I have missed working for myself.

Finding WA was a blessing as it means that I can once again build a business but this time from the comfort of my own home.

I prefer working from home. Unfortunately I set up the business, I worked hard to get it to what it is now and some lovely judge gave it to my ex husband in a divorce settlement he thought I had my hands full with 4 children and I had been given the house. Un Fair yes. I bounced back brought the kids up met a lovely fella and we are building a bricks and mortar business together and I have begun an internet based business. The bricks and mortar business is in joint names.

That is just so unfair. I know judges have difficult decisions to make when it comes to splitting things in a divorce. However, when you put your heart and soul into something it is devastating to lose it just on the say so of one person. :(

I am glad that you are building new businesses both online and offline and I hope they are even more successful than your first business. :)

Hopefully one day but that is a couple of years hard work first. Good job I am not frightened of hard work.

Lis, excellent. At took me 6 months of blogging to reach the first 6 ranks on Google back in January 2014. It's A Progression, that takes time, you have to lay down your cornerstone mark and then build on that.

It does take time and as you say, you have to build from the ground upwards.

Lis, call me 410-852-4807

Hi Lis,
Thanks for the article. I am learning slowly and my website is moving SLOWLY but didn't the Tortoise beat the Hare?
Bill & Sue

Hi Bill and Sue,

I like that analogy. We all need to be like the Tortoise and we will all be successful :).

Thank you.

Lis
