What a Week it has Been :
WOW.... What a week it has been. My family have a week together at Christmas every second year at a different location around Queensland. This year we decided to go to Broadbeach on the Gold Coast.
My family consists of our matriarch my Mum, I have 4 siblings with their families taking the total in the 2, 3 bedroom units to 13.... My three teenage nieces (all stuck on their iPhones 24/7) two twenteen something nephews & other nephews & my son, (who couldn't stay the hole week). At one stage we tried to book into somewhere to have dinner & each place we rang couldn't fit a party of 17 at short notice. So what do you do then....
Of course you cook dinner in the apartment & then try to fit everyone in, which we managed to do :) It was hilarious & memorable.
Now this image is of the first morning from our 11 floor apartment overlooking the beach & Kurrawa Surf Club at 5:30 am just as the sun was rising over the ocean.
Well that was the start of a non stop week of going here, there & everywhere on the Goldie. Of course, it wasn't always easy keeping tabs on everyone, again, thank goodness for technology :)
All in all over the past week, every time I started working on my emails I would be asked to go somewhere or play a game with everyone as my mum loves to play lots of games from poker to backgammon & everything inbetween. It was really a great week which went very fast but wouldn't have it any other way.....

Sounds similar to what is going on hear. Little neice, "Do you want to play hide 'n go seek?" Lol, yes...hide! I found some really great hiding spots, but she eventually finds me!
Haha yes it does doesn't it Lynette :) I hope you had a great time & Happy New Year to you :)
Family memories are always worth the get together. Thanks for sharing and really great that the family had a great time.
Yes they are Harvey because we lost our Dad 5 years ago & we don't know how long Mum will be able to do the trip, so it is very precious :) Thanks for your comment
You could always rough it Linda and go into a camp in the Queensland outback that will fit 17!
Already been there done that in July :) It was hot then, would hate to think what it'd be like now. My sister-in-law comes from Cloncurry, she was talking to her mum yesterday & it was in the high 30's... It's always so hard when people come from different parts of the country so.... 2018 looks like it'll be New Zealand :) My daughter suggested Cairns but to hot...
in July in Australia? I have to remember that Queensland is closer to the equator. You need to get up to the Indonesian island breezes!

Great to hear. Important to make time for family especially at this time of year. I was never any good at hide 'n seek! Prefer Lego and board games like monopoly
Thanks Marty :) it is important to have that time especially as our parents got older.
