"LIFE IS LIKE A BOX OF CHOCOLATES AND YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO GET!"
The movie "Forrest Gump" is by far one of my favorite movies up until now. I am a fanatic for movies that carry special messages that ultimately thrive to encourage one to take a look at their circumstances and make significant changes. As I expand on the message that I received consistently by watching this movie numerous times and over time, I am impelled to write this blog mostly to self reflect on my goals and aspirations to achieve success in spite of circumstances.
Tom Hanks, best actor of this movie, inspired me to look at my own circumstances and stop making excuses for my situation. "Forrest Gump" the movie not only presented information by depicting historical time lines but it also coined quotes by verbalizing small but priceless sayings throughout the movie. One of them being, "LIFE IS LIKE A BOX OF CHOCOLATES AND YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GONNA GET." For the sake of expanding on this quote, I'd like to take a moment to blog on this as it pertains to my life. The first thing being my recent life review evoked by sweet life itself. Every person who is alive usually go through these moments in time where they are forced to self evaluate where they stand in life. This occurs when one least expect it to at times or it happens when something major occurs. Sometimes your social life provoke this phenomenal occurrence. I was spiritually convinced to review my past, present, and future in a way that I hadn't before. When I was thirty three (33) and thought that I was living life to the fullest had planned to retire in the next ten years. I had held executive positions in companies any where from nurse executive to nurse liaison. I even became bold enough to start my own nursing facilities with a primary focus on retiring early in life. "Life is like a box of chocolates and you never know what you are gonna get!" I'm not retired and don't see it happening any time too soon. This life review sent me on my current quest and has landed me here at WA. Life has so many twists and turns that staying focused must remain one of the tools used in an effort to enhance the ability to obtain a certain level of success. I've now came up with a plan and a goal to get me through the next ten years. I'm eager to know what this piece of chocolate contains. Hopefully a big red cherry full of flavors inside.
