My Journey with Wealthy Affiliate-End of Course 2
I am so happy to have found Wealthy Affiliate and most of all this community. Without it, I might not still be here. I tend to jump into things and then lose interest quickly and move on to something else. Obviously, that is no way to be successful in Internet Marketing or Affiliate Marketing.
I found WA just over two weeks ago. I was looking for a way to earn a passive income online. I have owned my own service business before for eight years that provided private water system owners the help they needed to stay in compliance with EPA and State Clean Water Act regulations while I lived in North Carolina. Then I made a move to South Carolina. I had to leave that business behind as it was specific to that state.
I found work quickly as a temp and was later hired to work in the accounting department of a local business. Then I became an office manager and bookkeeper for a law firm. While there, I acquired my certification as a paralegal. After four years, I became so frustrated with the politics that goes on in an office environment, I decided to try to find a way to work from home. This was becoming necessary because of my ailing mother who had cancer at the time that had not yet been diagnosed.
I trained as a Medical Language Specialist (transcriptionist). I worked in this field for eight years, doing both transcription and Quality Assurance (editing other MLS's work for accuracy). Much of that work involved proofreading, as doctors use voice recognition software now most of the time. That came natural to me because I am a "red pencil" type of person. When I read anything, the misspelled words and disjointed sentences drive me crazy.
After being stressed with doing that work because of the liability with patient's medical history and the turnaround time required, I decided to "retire." That only meant I was no longer working, it did not mean I didn't need to work.
I decided to take my skills and offer them online as a virtual assistant. When looking for what other virtual assistants were doing online, I also looked at programs that could provide me with a passive income. I found a way to build a passive income as well as get my business online all in the same place with Wealthy Affiliate.
I was so amazed at the positive things I found out about WA, I decided to take them up on the FREE 7-day access to the Premium account. Then I took advantage of the $19 offer for the first month.
I am about to finish Course 2 and am so proud of myself at what I have accomplished. I have to give credit, though, not only to the excellent training here, but the access to the previously-asked questions in the database and the ability to pose my own question and have it answered usually within minutes. It is my goal to try to help as many who are not as far as I am to be successful by being a good helper.
My website, www.prosperitymarketplace.com, is designed to educate bloggers on the need for our services of proofreading, editing, and transcription. I found that bloggers tend to post blogs that are often times full of misspelled words, incorrect grammar, and disjointed sentences. They have a creative mind, not an analytical one, so they are eager to move onto writing another post. Misspelled words and bad grammar usually cause me to lose interest in the post and I don's stay long on the site and move on to another one. If I react that way, I know there are other "type A" visitors who do the same.
We offer services to help bloggers publish "clean" posts by providing a second set of eyes to review their post and polish it up and make it more professional. Now, some bloggers are more interested in being themselves, which means they are known for their way of talking and their language. That's okay. But if you want your blog post to attract visitors to check out Wealthy Affiliate, you want to put your best foot forward.
If I have gotten this far in under 30 days, I can't wait to see where I am at the end of 30 days. When I get my first online customer, or my first membership for WA sold, then I will consider myself on the way to success.
Thanks for listening and please visit my website at www.prosperitymarketplace.com and see How We Can Help.
