Old excuse: " I derserve a treat after the kind of day I've had"

New Mantra " I deseve kindness, not calories."

Sure, satisfying a craving can give you a quick hit of the pleasure hormone dopamine ( and if you are doing it with carbs, a rush of calming serotonin too). But research shows that chocolate's comforting effect last only three minutes. And once the high passses you are left with the same frustrations as before plus regreat.

Dark chocolate has health benefits although moderation is expected.

The problem could be a habit. When the going gets tough Chocolate fixes the problem.

Not bad with a nice glass of red either. LOL

But Levi - what's life without some perks like chocolate? I don't care about the dopamin and whatever - I want my fix! Take it from an old fart - chocolate is an acquired taste that needs satisfying.

On a healthy note I have to admit that my cravings caused me a hearth attach last months, but the doctors were able to put in some stints so now i as good as new so now I can have a chocolate again!

My point is that we have to enjoy life when we are around although I don't advise an unhealthy .life style. But an occasional give in to a craving must be allowed - we can make amends later
