What is blogging?
I like to get to the root meaning of words, helps me understand how things tick.
I am somewhat of a geek and still wondered what blogging is for quite awhile, this goes back quite some time ago when I kept hearing about bloggers. I remember one night watching Greta VanSusteren a news anchor in the states, she said "blog" and I finally decided it must be short for web logger. Well for once I was nearly right; it is the shortened version of “Web Logging”. According to dictionary.com - Blogging is a website containing a writer's or group of writers' own experiences, observations, opinions, etc., and often having images and links to other websites.
OK smart guy, what does that mean to me?
The intent is quite simply to help people. Blogging is the art of composing content using free-form writing combined with images and links to other content. This content is delivered via a web page in such a way that it can be found as a result of searches across the internet.

BLOG is the short word derived from "weblog", they just decided to drop the "we"
A blog holds a series of log entries or "posts" .
Think of the "blog" as a large container and the "BLOG post" as the written report or entry inside the container.
People often confuse a blog with a blog post, and say they are writing a "blog". Incorrect. THey are writing a "BLOG post".
