Struggling to meet expectations

As we move through stages in our life those depending on us change. It seems there is never enough time in a day to please everyone. At times we should do an expectations check.

Who has expectations of me, and are they relevant to my success here and now, whether personally or professionally? Stop worrying about those who are irrelevant.

Why does it matter? Focus on the relevant ones, what benefits will meeting expectations bring to you and they. If there are no benefits what is the point?

What does it all mean? If my life ended today what impact will unmet expectations leave behind? If little to nothing, maybe you can stop worrying about them.

When it gets down to it there may be much less to worry about than you ever imagined. Go over and above with the relevant expectations.

Have a Blessed Day!

So true. Why worry? It does not improve your life.

Prioritize the things you can handle!

Agreed. I think we should only worry about things we can actually control, and not be so concerned with things that are out of our control.

Just had that conversation with my sister. We worry about so many things...when so much is irrelevant. Thanks for sharing.

Hey there Leon,

Great post - I think we spend a lot of time 'sweating the small stuff' and not enough time on what really matters.

Thanks for the reminder, cheers,

Jacqueline

Wonderful advice Leon. We all need to only focus on what truly matters. Always question oneself.

Stop trying to please everyone and meet all preconceived expectations. Live life to the fullest.
