I just set up my first website and wrote a first post introducing myself and the purpose for the site. Haven't added any links to it yet but hope to get that done by the first of next week. Any suggestions since this is totally new to me?

Nice one. My suggestion is to write 20 posts and then worry about styling, links etc. This is often the best time to sit back and design your site as you have enough content for the design to actually look good. Congrats on the first post, now keep going! :)
I have started on my next 2 and have saved them as drafts while I continue to update them. One contains a referral link but I don't have any in the other one. I have got working titles for 3 more.
