Writer's Block
Writer’s Block When Blogging
I think that at some point in our blogging updates and new material to bring people to our pages and websites we have all experienced writer’s block. If you are a regular blogger which for most of us we are, then you will most defiantly have come across a time when you have struggled to string a sentence together. The pressure of blogging daily can lead to a mental block. Or, perhaps there are other things that are going on in your life that are standing in the way and making it hard to focus. Whatever the causes that you come across there are 10 things that you can do that will help improve and move past writer’s block.
Turn Up the Music
There is a book called So Your Muse Has Gone AWOL? The authors interviewed writer’s alike about how they overcome the dreaded writer’s block, brainstormed things that have worked for them. What they found is that authors had one thing in common and that is music. The sound of music has been found to contain the dreaded writer’s block. Listening to the beat of lyrics of a song can free the creative side of the soul. Whatever you are writing about often it will be non-fiction topics, you can learn a lot from songwriters and how they use life experience to get them through to complete their work. Whatever music that you are into whether it be classical, rock, or rap music listen to something that you would not normally listen to. Try and work the story behind the song.
Refill the Creative Well
There are a few of us out there me included that are workaholics, and the problem with this is that our creative drive will run out more quickly than others. We have heard the old saying “All work and no play makes……” Well this is very true. To think up new material and get them down into a blog, you really need to experience the world around you that you live in. By doing this and experiencing the world around you can come up with new ideas to write about. Things to think about when looking for inspiration, go and visit a local museum, read a book that you wouldn’t normally read. Spend time with loved ones or your best pal, or my foveate past time go people watching.
Taking notes
Blogging experts have suggested that making notes on ideas that you have thought about is one of the best ways to overcome writer’s block. Keeping notes does not have to be complicated. Use these methods, carry note pad with you so you can jot down your ideas as they happen first hand. If you don’t have a note pad to hand then leave yourself a voicemail or text message. Start a file on your desk top with ideas that you have written down.
When all else fails, use prompts to get you going again. It’s quite surprising how a prompt on a topic like a stop light can spark ideas within your blog’s niche. There are plenty of sites out there that you can use to help you prompt for new ideas. Take the time to read a few blog posts from other bloggers and comment on their blog posts and always remember to comment on them by doing this you are creating a network of bloggers. His may also spark other ideas that you may not have thought of. We have all heard the phrase “get off your butt and get to work” Well do the opposite, get yourself sat down behind your computer put some music on if you need it and start writing down ideas. Most of all be patient and sure enough that bloggers block will be a distant memory.

Hi Lee. The taking notes part works for me. I have never been able to concentrate with any sort of noise in the background. Jim
