Making your Debut?

How many ideas have we had that we wanted to share or post on our social media accounts but something stopped us? This "something" borders on the line between apprehension (Is it a good idea?) to fear that the people that know you will reject you (what if no one responds/reads/click on my post?). You may have wanted to post things on your FB/Twitter/Instagram account but thought to yourself.... "everyone on my FB list are either friends/family/associates and how are they going to receive my new career"?!!!

Well, that is why interacting with people here at WA is so profound. When you interact with like-minded folks, you begin to gain such confidence that you know that even if only 5 FB friends like your page or clicks on your post......it was 5 more than you had yesterday! You begin to know that this is not a personal review of your character but it is building a foundation to begin to share with possibly hundreds, even thousands (I am claiming that right now :-)) of potential clients or customers.

OK, I admit.....maybe it is just me who has had these little nay-saying thoughts to wonder through my brain! Maybe, just maybe I need little confirmation that I am not the only one.

So, how did you make your debut on your social media accounts? Not under your company brand but one the ones that already existing under your own personal name?

I have the exact same issue. You wonder if it is politically correct almost. I have lots of funny stories about my surgeries over the years or dealing with teenagers but are they appropriate? I struggle with this all the time.

I don't share anything with family and friends - it would bore them to death, which is fine because I don't share their interests either.

Thank you Beverley and that is my thoughts concerning interests. So how (& who) did you begin your social marketing strategy if you dont mind sharing?

I always get more interaction when I'm chatting or making queries on social media. If I post from my website I'm usually ignored by those I know, they just move on. It's the same as we are taught here, people want to read quality content and are willing to be engaged, we have to sort out how we will do that.

I can totally relate to hesitating when it comes to sharing stuff on my Facebook due to the fear of being judged by family ad friends.

Thanks for this.
