How Important is Your WA Blog Title?

As promised, this week I have concentrating on TWO things :-

  1. Cleaning up my sites ready for the next set of training
  2. Interacting with the WA community to both create a following and get some comments and feedback on my sites.

Well whilst undertaking step 2, I have come across several people's Bio's / Profile's and several people's Blogs here within the WA community and hence I thought it was worth sharing my views on how important the BIO and Blog title are.

Undertaking WA Tasks

Not everybody, works in the same way. Some people prefer to work on whatever comes to mind at the time, whilst others are hyper-organised and will stick rigidly to a routine and a prioritised task list. Personally I think I am somewhere in the middle.

But the first thing, I had to do this week was organise myself and set myself some targets. The constant notifications both inside WA and in my email was making my activity way to hap-hazard.

Hence, I produced myself a daily checklist which I could work through, knowing that eventually everything would get done and I didn't have to worry about those notifications that were constantly disrupting me.

From this checklist I want to express my opinion on two tasks that I have being doing daily

  • Follow and Welcome New Premium Members
  • Comment on 4 new internal Blogs

As stated, my aim is to create a following. By doing this, it's going to benefit us all down the line. We are going to be able to get help when we need it, encourage each other and supply each other with site comments and feedback.

New Premium Members - BIO

The first selection criteria when deciding to create a following was new premium members. After all I didn't want to waste effort, finding and following everybody. New premium members had just parted with cash, so they are at least semi serious about making a go of it here at WA.

But some individuals have just got money to burn sometimes. So I had to cut down the criteria a little more. I currently aim to welcome and follow 10 new premium members a day. How do I choose those members? Simply by their BIO. A quick glance will tell me enough. Are they serious or are they individuals who are not going to put the effort in to make a success?

Above is an example of a good bio. I am not going to embarrass individuals by showing bad bios. But this guy above has spent the time and effort of introducing himself, his likes, his goals etc. He has spent the time an effort, so I will respond by spending the time and effort in following him. Incidentally, I have also spent the time and effort in PM'ing him to show respect because I have included his BIO here.

Example of Bad Bios :-

    • No BIO at all - if you';ve made no effort, then I'm not wasting my time on you . Sorry!
    • "My passion is travel." - 1 line ... Is that really all you have to say?
    • "follow the success where ever it is" - 1 line again - Nice quote but who are you?
    • "Just starting it!" - with that much effort I'll give you a month at tops
    • "I am a newbie for affiliate marketing. I am willing to learn fast." - tempted to help you, but come on give me some info about who you are?

Sorry, if I've been a bit blunt, specifically if your unlucky enough to have one of the BIO's I have picked on, but I think I have got my point across.

Spend a little time on your BIO and you can create a following here at WA that is second to none in the affiliate marketing business. We can all help each other to those riches that we so desire, whether it be money, lifestyle or whatever you dream of.

    Choosing a Blog Title

Finally we move onto my second task, How do I choose which Blogs's to read and comment on.

There is way too many WA blogs to read every day, so I have to cut it down somehow. We are all here to concentrate on building our own business and not spend hours reading everyone else's story.

So for me, personally, I simply leave all 'New Blogs' in my email until I'm ready to spend 15 to 30 minutes of my day commenting on them. I then choose 3 or 4 from the list that have the most stand-out title.

This can be affected by my mood. If i need encouragement, then I will choose motivational titles, if I'm ready to learn something new, I will choose training based titles, or if I need cheering up then I will chose titles that are lighthearted.

A quick read - a thoughtful comment and hey presto, task complete.

I then select all other blogs in bulk, mark them as read and archive them. Sorry if I missed you out!

    Let's Win Together

So there it is. Now you can see how important your BIO is and how important your Blog Title is, at least to me.

Feel free to use the checklist (or create your own from it)

If you like this blog then follow me. If you spend the time and effort to get to know me, I will certainly return the favour. Let's get this sorted. WA has the best affiliate marketing community out there bar none, and we are all part of it.

    Success to you all!

What a novel idea with that checklist, Lawrence! So simple, yet so thorough and concise! I believe that our WA bios are important and periodically update mine as things change!

    Jeff

    Thank you for comments

I agree about updating your BIO as time progresses

I like your check list as well, also the structure of you day with answering email as they can take over you day if you let them

    Have a great weekend

    Ross

Yes . As I've got older I struggle with structuring my day, when I was younger I used to be able to prioritise on-the-spot, my brain was sharper.

Part of it is probably memory based, in my younger years I used to be able to remember things at the end of the day and make a list, now it seems if I don't make a note or act at the time, then the topic / question/ issue can become lost in oblivion.

I totally understand where your coming from

Yes, logical structure is preferable to chasing "fires".

Great WA check list, I need to create one. Thanks for sharing.
    Have a wonderful weekend,
    Mickey

    Thank you Mick

Stand-out titles are important to me too.

    Too true

Great list and good plan. The key is for it to work for you. I agree that people do read bio and you need to think about how you connect with others.

    Thank you Stanley
